I noticed that a lot of people had questions about words to particular Prince songs and I thought it might be fun to try to decipher some of them. I'll go first: At the end of Automatic, Prince is saying something that sounds 'tasting your ice cream'. Could someone please give me that whole dialogue at the end of that song? I've wanted to know since 83.

what i wanna know is about this one line in "gotta stop (messin about)"...the line after "uh oh, here he comes now/so happy that he came/hey! wuz it good, boy?"

I have a question: in "let's pretend we're married", is he saying "okay martain" or "okay marsha"?

i'm just glad the lyrics to Batdance were put in the liner notes. if a man is considered guilty for what goes on his mind... Before the album was released I used to fuck that up. After "if a man..." I would start rambling about taco wafers and anything that would fit until "for all my future crimes".

What about the entire song "I'm Yours" on P's first album "For You". His voice is so drowned out from all the guitar that I can't understand a single word he says the whole song! (except maybe he says "never really wanted to till now" during the chorus but that's about it!!!)

Okay, this is a misheard lyric that I didn't get right until I saw the lyrics printed somewhere.

In the song, "Sex in the Summer" (off the Emancipation CD set), instead of the line "We can party all night long", I thought Prince was singing, "Freak your body all night long". Okay, now I definitely know that I have been listening to too many Prince songs in my day!

Handclaps - I think he says in Gotta Stop Messin About somthing like "What was her aim?" or "What sort of an aim?", its a difficult one to make out!

LPWM - 100% certain that he says "Look here, Marsha, I'm not sayin' this..."

And Erotic City, it is definitely "Fuck so pretty you and me" - it's very easy to hear it when Prince sings it, but is perhaps clearer when Wendy sings "We can fuck until the dawn".
