Did you ever buy anything from the NPG stores?

What item(s) did you buy?
Which store did you visit?

I bought the Sacrifice of Victor photo collection, a tour book, the Exodus album and a t-shirt from the Minneapolis store. (July 1995)

Now that you think of it, years later, it does seem a bit ridiculous that Prince would have his own high-street stores smile

I boought Exodus & Mayte's album. Both good albums and worth the trip. I went to the one in Uptown. I thought it was a very cool store, but I was there with my girlfriend at the time for a good hour and we where the only one's in there the enitre time. My girlfriend talked to the sales clerk and she said she loved working there since she was able to do her homework and no one bothered her.

I can't recall what I bought there exactly, but it was the perfect place to buy Prince things.

They had vinyl, odds and ends of all kinds, and a listening room. Oh, and best of all, no shipping charges. The shipping charges at the NPGMC is the ONLY reason I've never purchased anything besides Celebration tickets there.

If only they would open one at Paisley Park. biggrin

Yeah, I went to the MPLS store and bought some posters, a hat, some t-shirts.

It was a nice store.

I also ordered some stuff via mail and got as a bonus the "Neo Manifesto" book with those cereal-box type slides.

Lot's of stuff from the Uptown store. Remember that T-Bird in the middle of the store, and the TV in the floor? They even had a NPG kiosk at the Mall Of America for a while. I kind of miss those stores...

I bought a few CDs at the Minn. store. I also bought Crystal Ball from 1-800-newfunk, but alas, it never showed up. I complained about it, and was promised another copy, but it never arrived. It also never got taken off of my credit card. That was the last thing I bought from Prince and that was 6 or so years ago. Stupid marketing!
The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

Wow...the US NPG store seems much more interesting than the London 1. It was a shame because the London one neva had vinyl...the music section was pretty small...I happened 2 be in the store the day the Good Life CD Maxi-single was released...I was glad cuz they only stocked about 6, so by the end of the day they had all gone!

I used 2 love going upstairs in the kinda cafe thang and play interactive...

It was a cool place...but the merchandise was not that good...I have seen pictures of the US NPG store and that's more like an NPG store...smile
