HARDLIFE (ultimately the cheesiest film Prince has ever made) Yesterday I received two videotapes from a friend in the mail of some Jam of the Year concerts and he added a short film made by Prince in 1987 that I had never heard about.
it's called: HARDLIFE A Shadetree Production Starring Wally Safford as Puff Greg Brooks as Danny Jill Jones as Gillian Stoneheart Harriet Fink (Matt Fink dressed as a woman) as the annoyed white lady Eric Leeds as the policeman Mico Weaver as Nicolas the Minder Cubby Colby as Gillians drunk friend Joel Bernstein as kicken breath drunk ABBA John L. as poool shark Cat Glover as ABBA Johns draws Brad MArsh as Leonard Maltin lookalike Music by MADHOUSE (Eric Leeds, Matt Fink, Levi Seacer, Dale ALexander) Misdirected by Prince This film is only about 20 minutes long and probably made with a camcorder. The acting is corny as well as the story line. i have it on cd-rom and yes, it is cheez city. it wuz sorta cool, p's daddy made a cameo appearance on there!

this movie was never ever intended for release,shot around march 30th only shown once at pp 2 employees and friends and never shown again,he may have given tape copies 2 said people hence its leakage  | |

Boy, I heard about this for years and wondered what it was about. I got a copy of this last month and it was the longest-hardest-stupid 20 minutes of my life to watch.
What a waste of time. I don't even think Prince is shown in this. Don't waste your time trying to hunt this down. YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED!!! . "

eh?? why you hatin' on fink? check the keyboard solo in head...he even got credit for that, and in prince's world that means a LOT. fink is the best keyboard player prince ever had. renato is kick-ass too, but fink is way funkier.
fink was a member of prince's touring band from the late 70's through lovesexy...pretty impressive. i guess what i'm trying to say is that I LOVE MATT FINK. there, i said it.
