I heard TRC was 95,000 and ONA would certainly be much, much fewer then that.

It may have been 95,000 stateside and 115,000 worldwide now that I think about it.

Those figures are grossly inaccurate!

In the US, at the start of the ONA tour, TRC had sold 129,000 copies, of course many more copies have been sold since then, you must remember internet sales and of course sales at merchandise stalls throughout the tour. I would say that between 140,000-160,000 have been sold in total.

Worldwide is harder to determine, considering that it did not chart anywhere! But judging by the amount of ona european shows and the attendance figures, in total sales must be at 100,000

That makes around a quarter of a million sales! Not bad considering there was no promotion anywhere (apart from the tour)

ONA live is even harder to determine, however, its best to think of it this way, every time prince has released an album it has always sold more than 200,000 copies, which says something about his fanbase!

Where are you getting these numbers? I don't have Hahns book in front of me, but he gave sales figures for the album and it was not 250,000.

To date 121,606 in the US.

It is only available as an import in most countries so I doubt the WorldWide sales are as high as you guessed.

Not bad considering the album wasn't that heavily advertised. I remember the documentary commercial playing nonstop at Best Buy for about a month and a half, but that's about it. But on the other hand Prince used to be able to sell 500,000 copies with limited advertising (New Power Soul).

I didn't hear nothing at Best Buy! They play ONA a lot in the Barnes and Nobles I go to,but that's now.

I did not see or hear one advertisment for this cd!
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

The advertising in question was a commerical they ran in Best Buy during the Holiday season a year and a half ago. It was footage taken from the documentary filmed by Kevin Smith.

Are sure they ran this all over the country? Cause I like LIVE in Best Buy and I did not hear it!

Around this site everyone reported hearing it all over the country. FYI it was on the tv screens as it was a commercial.

I believe it charted in the top 10 in Japan..."Last December" got tons of airplay over there, so TRC coulda sold a decent number of units overseas...I'd say 200,000 or more worldwide wouldn't be too bad a guess.
