are we hanging on to the PAST

it has just hit me that Prince will be 45 years old ,it doesn't seem like it and he surely does not look it at all my hard reality is that he is 5 years from 50... friends things will never be the same, not that it should be however the good old days are truly missed.I wonder if all of us are stuck in the 80's just like our parents are caught in whatever' era felt good to them, and made them happy.maybe I am melancoly sometimes but Prince's music is timeless like your favorite pair of sweats it just feels right grouphug I wouldn't change a thing

YES! I think a lot of people are stuck in the past, but I think the main reason is that when Prince was very popular in the 80's...it was kind of cool to say you liked him. Maybe not so know...and that might be part of the reason as to why people keep hanging onto the past.

so do you in this day and age if one was to say that they are a Prince fan kinda of outdated ?

For me those days are gone the mystery has been revealed though he still tries to maintain some mystery, i'll never get the feeling i had when i first saw the video for controversy or sexuality omg or how i felt when The Time had their first single out cool and let's work was on the radio, everyone in the hood had their hair swooped to one side and were wearing peter pan boots. it was an exciting experience up until batman then it seemed kinda played out. a couple of gems here and there but never another atwiad, parade, or sign of the times that vibe is gone and maybe it has to do with me having completed the cycle of puberty but it seems like somewhere along the way prince lost touch with his fans or i just can't connected to what he's trying to do now. Well these ears certainly are not the freshest and my taste are so diverse now it's really hard to find musical stimulation i find myself constantly dissapointed by what's being produced now days though i might dig up something that keeps me entertained for awhile but like everything else it gets old and i find myself on another mission to find something that'll stimulate me sonicly. sigh yeah you're not the only one that's gets meloncholic sad

No...I wouldn't use the term "outdated". But I think other people give you a funny look when you say you like Prince. Usually the first thing they say is "Is he still around?". And that's what I was trying to get at...the 80's were just a golden age to be a Prince fan and some people want to relive it again.
