OK so what's the truth here? In Possessed it's claimed that Prince fired Wendy and Lisa during a dinner at his house in L.A. Now I just read that Wendy and Lisa quit. who got the true story?

Here's the way it went (or at least the way I've heard): Both Wendy and Lisa wanted to leave before the end of the Parade tour. Prince sent Bobby to convince W&L to stay for the rest of the tour. After the tour, W&L had dinner with Prince, where they said their good-byes, ect. ~KiKi

He probably said that to make it more dramatic, 'cause, as you see, the real version isn't all that juicy. [This message was edited Thu Jun 5 18:34:11 PDT 2003 by lovebizzare] ~KiKi

The departure of Wendy and Lisa was described in 'DanceMusicSexRomance' by Per Nilsen, with whom Alex Hahn worked when preparing 'Possessed'. Nilsen's source references for the chain events appear to be Susan Rogers, Alan Leeds, Matt Fink, Bobby Z and Wendy Melvoin (DMSR pp.200-7) and Alex Hahn's description of events does not vary (as far as I can tell) from this i.e.
Wendy and Lisa approached Prince and advised him that they were going to quit. Prince, with assistance from Bobby Z, persuaded them to stay at least for the forthcoming tour. The tour concludes in Japan. At dinner in October, Prince formally folded The Revolution. Wendy and Lisa were with him, and he spoke to Bobby Z that evening by telephone (and Matt Fink by telephone although it is not clear if it was that evening) As to how 'amicable' or 'dramatic' the split was at the house, Wendy is quoted in DMSR as saying, 'It was difficult when he fired us ...'. In Liz Jones' 'Slave To The Rhythm'/'Purple Reign', she quotes Wendy once more with, 'So it wasn't a real big surprise when he invited is over to dinner and gave each one of us pink slips.' So in answer to your question: it's claimed that Prince fired Wendy and Lisa during a dinner at his house in L.A. Now I just read that Wendy and Lisa quit. who got the true story?' - if you believe the consistent accounts and the sources in these three books, then not only did they originally quit, but having implicitly withdrawn their notice earlier in the year, they were subsequently 'fired'. ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

Honey, when it comes to the life of Prince, no one knows the truth, even the man himself.
He has created so many personalities and lifes that even he doesn't know what's true and what's a lie. That's the life of a superstar

i agree with her royal badness. Who really knows? As Wendy & Lisa said on their first album:
'So strange no-one stayed, At the end of the Parade...' Moo said the cow
