I'm about to finish the book today, and its been interesting to say the least. Its clear Hahn has a thesis and its pretty well-written; the quotes are used effectively for the most part. This is the first Prince-related book I've read, since it seemed to be an attempt at objectivity. Its really NOT such a negative book to me... i do get a sense that to Hahn "black music" is taken as some kind of lesser genre though, that's been annoying. But I like reading the comments of various women that have gotten close to Prince. You DEFINITELY can't know who he is from this any more than you'd know me by talking to people i've kicked it with over the years (think about THAT for a minute... what would your past friends and former associates say? ). I do think that they give you a better insight into who he has been and who he might be...just like my acquaintances would of me. Ultimately though, you're left to make the call yourself.

As for me, it just gave me an excuse to play my Prince collection over and over again

if i tell gilber and rome to meet me at 11 and creep at 10 that'll give me an hour of free reign... Mo' Draws...
