The Hate Experience Listened to it last night for the first time in years - I forgot how good it is - perfect if you've had an argument with the missus
You can't beat the album version it has everything - classic NPG 94-95 sound, bit of falsetto, spoken court-room scene and intense guitar at the end But the extended remix is also excellent - he sounds so angry, bitter and even violent with lines like: 'I'd pay somebody to knock you off but you aint worth the wealth...' 'Guinness couldn't count the scenes of sex and violence in it...' Hopefully Charlene Friends lawyers don't have this track!!! Even the Eric Leeds version is cool Anyone else dig this overlooked CD single?

Yep. I like it a lot. Especially that spoken part on the
remix. "guiness couldn't count the scenes with sex & violence in it" Charlene Friend? What's the story behind that? I never knew it was written for someone in particular. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I never get enough of that song! "I Hate U" is classic Prince.I love his bitter, sarcastic attitude throughout...
"You gave your body to another in the name of fun Hope you had some baby,if not,boo-hoo" and who could forget this incredible line... "close your eyes,I wanna cover your ass with this sheet and I want you to pump your hips like you used to,and baby you'd better stay on the beat" I don't know about you guys, but I want more songs like this!

I heard it was about Carmen too, but I always thought there was some WB analogizing going on, too...

I always thought that Dolphin was written with Warners in mind.
