U FUNNY! It's CHLOREEN BACON SKIN. yes, i like it alot. especially in the beginning when morris or prince ( is there still a debate about who really sings & who plays drums? Does morris day or prince sing? ) stops in mid stream & says Oh, 4got 2 put on my headphones, in that old crusty voice. I am assuming this was 4 real. funny. the beat is riveting & addictive too. its quite the lengthy song, but I never notice.

the lead vocal is prince. For people who can't remember the
history of p with morris. Morris's rep as a GREAT drummer
was well known among the minneapolis musicians.

he did audition to be in prince's first road band and
most insiders asssumed he'd win.
a quote: morris was very funky...had a quick left hand..."

he's the drummer on the b-side TRICKY.

PRINCE created the morris voice...he's does it a bit in
"chocolate"

if i remember some of the recording done that day just
involved those 2.

one other thing. prince picked Bobby Z for his skin color
and his loyalty.

he wanted a sly stone -mixed racial group and went that way
(which ticked off his black buddies Chazz smith,etc etc..

morris probably was a better a drummer than bobby,but that's
not always the reason to pick somebody.

another interesting side-note-morris was going to be the
TIME's drummer until alexander o' neal told prince I ain't
dealing with taking orders from nobody. jellybean's a guitarist-(a good one -check his leads on jam & lewis
stuff with alexander on the first 2 o'neal albums)
who also drums.


youngca...morris is supposed to be a quiet reserved type.
prince gave him the SIlly attitude and voice and the rest is
history!!!
