I never got past the first 5 seconds to tell you the truth. I have no idea what it's about, and I've ALWAYS skipped past it. I have tried to listen to it the whole way through, and I just can't do it.

I do not go out looking for Prince songs that I dislike just for spite. I love the man. There's not a day that passes that I don't listen to his music.

There are very few moments on his albums that make me wonder what on earth was going through his head. But "Graffiti Bridge," start to finish, is the largest of those moments. It sounds completely unfinished, and not in a way that seems remotely intentional. It sounds like it is an amateur recording of a junior high theatre troupe performing in a cafetorium with the smell of pizza and green beans still hanging in the air from earlier in the day. The only thing missing is the clickity-clack of plastic trays banging together as they're thrown on the conveyor belt to be taken back to the kitchen.

I am a firm believer that the album would have been better with this song left off.

I've always liked this song. Mostly because it's the only song on the album with Sheila E's hand in it...but the orchestral arrangement is awesome.

I found the music to be real boring and uninteresting. It's just not they style of music I like. A song like When Doves Cry didn't even have bass in it yet it was brilliant. The music in Kiss was very simple but it was so effective. Throwing a lot of intstruments together doesn't make for a good song. It's all about quality, not quantity.

I don't HATE this song, but it's not one of my favorites. It has a certain charm to it,but for a title track,it could have been much better.

I don't normally go into personal stuff on this site, but I thought the following was worth mentioning since it's on topic.

Like many here I hold no particular fondness for 'Graffiti Bridge'. However, I recall it was one of two songs an ex-girlfriend of mine used to play for her autistic brother, who was five at the time. (The other song she used to play for him was Captain Sensible's 'Happy Talk').

However, the little kid's response to 'Graffiti Bridge' was priceless... the boy never looked happier than when she played this song to him. This never failed to bring a tear to my eye, somehow...
