This weekend in the wee hours of the morning (and 22 years AFTER THE FACT) I stumbled across a video for "Let's Pretend We're Married." I never knew this existed! I searched for discussion about this and found very little so I thought I'd ask for your opinions.

This video has everything!!! It's very high quality and looks like it was shot on the 1999 tour stage. It starts with cool stage lighting effects. Prince appears with Bela Lugosi eyes galore in His Royal Badness' classic 1999 outfit (complete with those little grey gloves). Very few since have preened with such style.

The Revolution is on hand to mime the instrumentation/programming. Neither Jill Jones nor Wendy are on hand so Lisa premieres for the first time (correct me if I'm wrong) her classic bangs-blowing. This sexy move of course peaks in the Mountains video and has been well-documented ever since. Dez is in classic Japanese headband. Brown Mark is even featured a bit; God bless him!

The choreography isn't as intricate as that of Little Red Corvette, but it's very inspired. Always ahead of his time, Prince does what will eventually become known as The Molly Ringwald. Unbelievable! Who knew she was a fan!??

The band freezes halfway through and does a slow motion move that is the early incarnation of the band choreography used in Let's Go Crazy and Computer Blue (during the instrumental breakdowns). Very cool.

Unfortunately, my version is an edit. It fades out like a single edit. A full version video would have been most scandalous. Do u relate?

This video really is a lot of fun. Did I mention venetian blinds and tons of smoke? I don't know how I'd missed it all these years.

I've never seen this video! I wonder why it was rarely shown back in 1983/84 when the song became a single.

this ones cool its in the same vien as the other 1999 performance videos...automatic being the longest and freakiest one

...if it wasnt 4 the fact that it was shot in one take, it would be awesome.

The video for "Bambi" was much better produced in my opinion and seems to be more rare.

i don't think there was one for delirious..to the best of my memory, there was LRC, 1999, automatic and let's pretend...maybe there's another?

while searching for the answer, i came across the fact that cat apparently was on star search back in the day. now THERE'S a video i'd like to see!
