The Rebels project.

If anyone can get a copy of this from c1980 get it, I dug it out after ages and it sounds so funky. Have to say that Princes version of 'u' [later given to Paula Abdul, is a great rock / funk track that would sound great if recorded for today. The other killer tracks are 'Thrill u, Kill u' [very similar to soft and wet BUT witha ton more funk] and 'Nadera' the melody of which is very similar to Crucial. Whilst it would never have been rated as a classic its still an interesting piece in Princes and the bands Musical development. The funniest thing is the mock interview with Nadera [apparently a writer] listen to Prince as a young dood hittin' on a girl in the studio is priceless!.

Are you referring to the so-called KFUNK mock radio interview from 1978? That is hilarious, isn't it?

Yes, that interview is quite funny - his voice suounds so weird! The original version of "If I love you tonight" is my favourite in that album. It's so blue and sad, neither Mica nor Mayte could ever make it so deep.
