Several Prince mentions on FF web site

I was flippin through the "dictionary" section of the FooFighters web site and was amused at how many references to Prince are on there...

http://www.foofighters.co...ionary.php

Interestingly enough it also mentions that they have tried to cover Purple Rain numerous times. Vanity is also listed on there a few times.

I am a HUGE Foo Fighter fan. Dave Grohl knows his shit about music. It is no wonder he is a Prince fan. They covered Darling Nikki and Purple Rain that i know of either live or in the studio.

Give the Foos a chance. I wrote them off in the beginning just thinking they were a corporate creation. They are great. The best rock band out today. They just get written off as pop music and dont get the credit they deserve.

Yeah - I loved their cover versions - kinda tongue-in-cheek, but I know Dave Grohl holds Prince in high-esteem: he's recently finished laying down drum parts for my friend's groups new album:

Not to mention Dave Grohl plays drums on the latest Queens of the Stone Age album and the last Tenacious D album. He also played everything on the first Foo Fighters album and has a old school heavy metal project in the works with Lemmy from Motorhead, Tom Araya from Slayer and several other well known heavy metal singers.
