The best tune was Cream. Its still the most radio friendly tune into the bargain.

Thunder... was a bit silly IMO... too much melodrama for my tastes. And I don't really want to hear about Jesus in my pop music... I preferred when Prince kept his quasi-spiritual mumbo-jumbo as non-denominational as possible.

I really like the 'Diamonds and Pearls' album.Yes,it's a commercial album and yes,it's very pop-ish and radio friendly but what's wrong with that? After the 'Graffiti Bridge' fiasco,it's obvious that Prince felt the need to come up with a hit record. As a pop album,'D&P' is brilliant. It's a strong, consistent collection of tunes, the highlights being...
***"Cream"---probably his catchiest single of the 90s,this song rocks! An irresistible track! ***"Strollin"---when I first bought this CD,I got to this song and played it over and over and over. This charming little ditty is GREAT! I love Prince's vocals and the arrangment is simple and uncluttered.Nice melody too! ***"Gett Off"---don't even front, you guys know this is one of Prince's strongest funk jams ever. With thunderous bass and a killer guitar solo near the end, this song is classic Prince.Gotta love the silly lyrics too. ***"Insatiable"---I prefer this to "Scandalous" and "Do Me Baby".In fact,I consider this to be Prince's best "bedroom ballad". ***"Live For Love"---love this closing track too! The other songs are also very good. There are a few embarassments ("Jughead" is best forgotten and lyrically,"Money Don't Matter 2Night" fails to make a real statement) but overall,a strong album. Not as powerful as what came next ('Love Symbol') but as pop albums of the 90s go,it's great.

fuck it. lets b honest. This album is what gave him new fans. It was commercial 4sho. If others followed mayb he would b doing a huge world tour by now. I luv that he broke away in a way 4rom WB but it had it's price. The coin always has 2 sides 2 it.

D & P? Pure Junk. What a waste. This was when he
thought he had to compete with the charts. You can almost see Prince waving the white flag in defeat. This album sounds cheap, looks cheap & smells cheap. Come, The Vault, The Undertaker & Rainbow Children now we're talking music. I know alot of people that really enjoy the album & that's fine. I'm not one of them. Just my 2 cents:-)
