I was in Firenze and Tuscany in May, and I found several good record stores in Firenze -- I was able to "track" down the tracked version of Lovesexy for a mere 10 Euro. Coming from the states, that was my holy grail. Other than that, though, I wasn't able to find any rarities, so to speak, but that wasn't exactly the purpose of the trip, either.

I'm Italian.
As far as what my experiences are I can say: * Don't "trust" the so-called megastores or so (like Ricordi, Messaggerie Musicali...etc... the only one where I found interesting things is Virgin in Milan or Ricordi in Milan under the Galleria), I mean, go there because you could find something but don't go there ONLY. * There are some , let's say, reknown "expert-music-stores" and they usually have a lot more rarities or are quite willing to do a search or an order for you. (I could give you a few names here in Rome). * In Northern Italy there some record fairs where you can find quite a lot of things like collectable items and rarities; I personally have never been to any because I live in Rome. * About Florence I remember a few nice stores in the aisles below SMN Train Station. * I would say: try every store that looks good, because actually you never know what you can find. BTW, where would you be moving? Maybe we (I mean my friends and I: I basically just need to ask them for some advice) could find some more specfic advices to give you. I hope I've been of any help. Peace! *********************************
