Great song. All singles he's released since then have sucked an Ibex's bootyhole.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

one of my all-time favorites... love the strings and then the guitar comes in at the end... prince nails the lyrics on this one, too... sexually seductive yet somewhat depressing at the same time...

Beautiful arrangement coupled with wonderful lyrics. Love that song. music

It has been said that he wrote that song for Anna Fantastic. Go on back to ya lil man, Anna!! LOL In an interview, she was asked if she still had the "pink cashmere" coat and she actually said yes. Was this coat actually real??

Also in that interview, she stated that Prince was very caring towards her and when she wrecked one of his automobiles, his only question was if she was alright. How sweet. love2

Yeah, a colleague asked me if I'd heard it -- a few months ago. I sent her a few paragraphs about why I love that song.

She was like: "Dang, I guess you like it then..."

Yes, Sly - that was something else!!

Co-sign with most here - one of my favourite cuts. Love the "tuby" guitar solo. And the phase with heavy echo on the hats- gives the song a real dreamy feel.

Has anyone else notice that the horn refrain at the end of "Come" is nearly identical to the string line in Pink Cashmere. Its the horn line near the end when Prince is singing, "Babe, when you come, come, come, come...(falsetto)oh-wow...shoo!".

I love this song but I can only hear "Psycho Never Hands" where "The cycle never ends" once was because of an orger's misheard lyric inspired ID. smile

This song is positively rapturous. The arrangement is gorgeous. The vocals are perfect. And the guitar solo is from another fucking planet. The one with the really good guitar solos.

I remember trying to hear this on the PA over the crowd during the build up to the Wembley Stadium concert in 1993. (funny how the "Always Coca-Cola" ad nearly blew your eardrums out yet this Prince song I had never heard was so quiet!). It sounded beautiful then.

When I bought The Hits I realised this was the song and it is my favourite cut from The Hits.

The guitar solo (very under-stated and subtle IMHO) and the strings give me goosebumps everytime.

Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

Love it. The guitar and orchestral passages are among the finest hes produced. I know that it was recorded initially back in 1988, but is anyone aware of whether it was re-recorded for the hits, or was it just dusted off and put on as it was?
It does'nt sound very '88, but it would've been a nice addition to Lovesexy or Graffiti Bridge.
