Prince facial Expressions( a funny story) ...... Hey do any of y'all notice how Prince make those funny expressions on his face while performing? 2day I was watching the Arsenio Hall Performance from back in 91' and my moms asked me "what's up with all those facail expressions" I couldn't help but 2 laugh ... I said what face expression? My mom tried 2 imatate Prince and I couldn't help but 2 burst out laughing on the floor...
but I said "oh ma, it's cool he just feeling the funk that's all" then my mom had the nerve to ask the million dollar question... "what funk" I looked at her like and she said "now there u go making those Prince Expressions again" ... [This message was edited Mon May 19 13:53:06 PDT 2003 by DigitalLisa]

One expression that's really stuck in my mind is from the PR live video from 1985. He plays this one lick on the white cloud and makes such a strange face!

Then he starts yelling something out.

Watch Lovesexy Live vol.1, see his facial expression after the 1st line when he performs 'I Wish U Heaven'. It looks like he swallowed a chilli pepper!

yeah! I think more than any other show Ive seen, he throws LOADSA wacky/fonky expressions - especially when He's giving that guitar a good work out! (The Cross springs 2 mind - and ESPECIALLY when he let's rip with the end solo on Let's Go Crazy - THAT'S funny as all hell!)

Lenny Henry - an English comedian. Although the make-up aint all that, His impersonations (He's done a few over the years) have been really funny. (My fave being the one he did back around 1985 - a distilled homage 2 Purple Rain - with 'Prince' riding a tiny tots 3 wheeler - VERY funny)
He's a big fan, visited Paisley Park 2 record a documantary on the MPLS sound 4 the BBC some years back + features as backing vox on Kate Bush's 'Why Should I Love U' from 'The Red Shoes' album.

PS: The piss-take he did recently with Rowan Atkinson of the Michael Jackson/
Martin Bashir interview was just THE best thing Ive ever seen him do - SPOT ON!

He was tripping hard during that Arsenio performance.I was at my grandparent's house when that show first aired. Of course I forced them to watch the show and my Grandmother was like "he sounds real good, but why does he make all those faces?"

I love those faces. We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color. Maya Angelou
