Controversy contains some classic shit (Controversy, Do Me Baby, Let's Work, Annie Christian), but I don't care too much about the rest of the tracks...
RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

for me? Naw.but the first three Tracks are still Essential along with "Let's Work"."Private Joy" is Cool&then I don't think about it much.depends on my mood.I Like "1999" way better though but Controversy,Sexuality&do Me baby are 3 knock out Cuts IMHO.

Anji said:[quote]For me, EVERY moment on this record - including the ending to Do Me, Baby and the quirky Ronnie Talk To Russia - is essential listening. Prince's mixing is more imaginative than on either Dirty Mind or 1999, and the funk is tighter. I think it's overlooked by the 'normal' Prince fan but the funk hardcore know where it's at; we're an exclusive minority. What do y'all think - a masterpiece or not? Additionally, are there any stories behind this album/era? Any info. would be appreciated!

While Controversy is a great album i would have to say that i like 1999 better.
