BBC Omnibus special Last Sunday, I watched the 1991 BBC omnibus special again (the first time for years).
Just 2 remarks: 1st remark concerning the current "how worthy is Prince" discussion: One journalist said something very true in that documentary: If Prince rented a mansion in Beverly Hills and spent all his money on drugs, everybody would have accepted this as normal superstar behaviour. But in fact people were mocking about Prince spending his money on the Paisley Park studio complex. 2nd remark concerning if you ever get doubts about your Prince obsession: Just look at the end of that documentary: Prince performing The Ladder. It still gave me the creeps after all those years.

The comment about how Prince spends is money is fantastic. It shows that Prince is a music man and not just a celeb. NOTE: THIS ACCOUNT IS NOW CLOSED. PLEASE CONTACT “K A M L L E”

There are two different versions of this. The first version has an interview w/ Paul Peterson (The Family) and more Dirty Mind era footage. The one shown last Saturday looks redited and has interviews w/ Alan Leeds & Benny Medina. [This message was edited Tue May 20 7:21:29 PDT 2003 by PhilG]

thanks for mentioning this again, it really was a great programme and gave him big props. Some of the footage was great too although I believe that they or Prince didn't use as much rare footage as was available. As for the ladder performance that was a major high light. I loved the bit at the lovesexy soundcheck where Prince complains about his heels jamming in the stage, bless his feminine heart!.

Ian - I'm a little confused!!
I understand that we are not allowed to solicit for bootleg material, but this was a BBC documentary which, of course, was televised. Is broadcast material like this counted as a bootleg? If so, my apologies - I did not think I was doing anything wrong. ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...
