Happy 1st Birthday One Nite Alone... I don't know the exact date that people first started receiving One Nite Alone... in the mail, but I think it was around May 15-17 last year.
Now that we've had a year to digest it, how does the album fit into the Prince canon?

Haven't listened to it since the week I received it.

Come to think of it, what was the first date anyone received a copy?

While I rarely listen to the disc from start to finish, there are certainly gems on there that I enjoy. And I always love it when a track from ONA pops up in my MP3 shuffle.
I think the disc was a nice first offering from the club last year. It was for true die-hard followers -- not for the masses. And it was unlike anything he had ever released before. For that alone, I applaud it. ...and it's a whole lot more music than we've gotten out of the club as of May 2003! Check out The Mountains and the Sea, a Prince podcast by yours truly and my wife. I really love the CD... but not enough to write down the date that I actually received it and remind everyone else about it. (jk)
One Night Alone would've been a great prelude to 3 other music discs being released last year(not to be confused with Prince's way of looking at things) meaning 3 more different bodies of work. (I know this has been argued backwards and forwards and I'm not trying to rehash the argument here, but just making the point that with putting separate titles to 4 separate albums in the tour book, lots of members really had their hopes up for four different cds and I was one of those people) When I first received One Night Alone, I thought "wow, now THIS is why I joined the club". I just knew that was a sign of good things to come. I thought, "by the time I'm tired of this disc in 2 or 3 months, I'll be receiving another disc of music". Boy was I ever wrong. "fool me once, shame on you... fool me, twice shame on me" "You've got to believe in something... why not believe in me?"

One Night alone is a brilliant Cd. shame about young and beautiful though which is utter trash.

I was very excited about this album when it was anounced in
year 2 [along with the strangely disappeared Madrid2Chicago] and those expectations were more than met with when I got it in the mail a few months later. For me, it's still the best thing we got last year. With the download album Xpectation as a close second. It's the perfect companion album to "The Truth" which is my fav album of the 90's. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

He did, Xenophobia was the working title for what was 'released' as Xpectation.
