Prince cameo in Batman movie

Hi. This is my first ever post on the web. I was wondering if anyone knew if Prince was in the movie Batman. I have heard that he makes a cameo but have never seen him. If he does make a cameo, what scene is he in?

Well it's not exactly a cameo, but remember the scene when Batman stops the voice-activated Batmobile? It's Prince's voice, not Michael Keaton saying "Stop". The same sample can be heard at the end of Batdance. Strange, but true.

What does a lyric sheet have to do with anything? If you have the movie, go check it out to see if I'm bullshitting you. Idiot.

Idiot? disbelief

I have the movie, album and Batdance video, sure Prince mouths it on the video, and it says 'Prince: Stop!' in the lyricsheet but I know i'm right.

It's Michael Keaton all the way.Why the hell would Tim Burton do that anyway? it doesn't even sound remotely like Prince.

I won't insult you cause your opinion differs from mine though.

Yes I did call you an idiot. Anyone who knows Prince's voice can tell it's him speaking. Look at the scene on your DVD player and it's obvious that's Not Michael Keaton's voice. You call yourself a fan? Simpleton.

Legend - on the album, it is beyond question a sample of Michael Keaton saying "Stop" in the film Batman, in much the same way as all the other protagonists' dialogue from the film are sampled all over the album.

Maybe you're watching it on a muffled video tape or something - but its impossible to mistake watching the dvd it is blatantly Michael Keaton saying the line and, to my ears, it is just as clear on the album.

Hey, d'ya think it's Prince at the beginning of Partyman who says "Gentlemen...let's broaden our minds...Lawrence!!"??! evillol

There is a difference between it being true and you believing it to be so. You said earlier "Strange, but true", as though it was a commonly accepted fact.

You now say "I just know I'm right", but is there anything, other than your own perception of this minutae, that can substantiate this?

I just figured everyone else noticed this, so i never mentioned it until it was brought out. Now, my perception has always been fairly accurate and i never doubt the evidence of my own senses. I discovered this anomaly years ago when I watched this scene from Batman on VHS and noticed Prince's voice where Keaton's ought to have been.
Any fan who can recognize Prince's distinctive voice will agree with me, so I'm quite confident in my opinion.

See what I'm sayin'?

Are you now introducing a get-out clause? Your excellent judgement is based on watching it on VHS years ago?

Ok, I haven't listened to Batdance in maybe 6 months, and I haven't seen my DVD in maybe 3 months, but they have been watched and listened to many times over the years and I, as you do, feel very confident that I would have noticed this before. I also never really liked that ending to Batdance - I felt it was just a tad lazy (a bit like the tempo change - I love the song, it just seems a bit, well, rushed) and thought that after all the samples of a desperate, compelled Batman saying "I gotta go to work" and Prince screaming in the background (the "turn the music down" stuff) the typically deadpan delivery of Michael Keaton saying "Stop!" just didn't fit that well.

But, until someone else is willing to stick their neck out here (surely someone else must have an opinion on this?), we don't have much to go on.

I believe it to be his voice too, at the end when the joker falls to his death you hear laughing it turns out to be his watch or whatever the device was that he was carrying in his jacket. Sure sounds like Prince's laugh but you can tell the voice has been changed a little to make it sound like a mad man's laughing.
I'm just a junky for the sound.

Erm, its like Jack Nicholson's laugh (as the Joker, yeah?), but its all messed up because its a recording on the toy he has in his pocket, and he just fell like a 1000 storey from Gotham Cathedral, yeah?

Seriously, this is getting nuts!! Are there really people out there who think the filmakers went to incredible extra expense to litter the film with little goodies that orgers could get fervished over?? nuts
