I just recently heard "Vavoom" for the first time. THAT could have been a big HIT! (IMO)

"Undreneath the cream" is one of the very FEW prince songs that i think are HORRIBLE. Lump this one in with "Jughead" "Sex" (B-side to Scandalous), and "I Like Funky Music"

Had "Stone" been released I think it would've received some decent radio airplay and maybe even broken the Top 10. I don't know, it just sounds like a radio-friendly song 2 me. A very good one.

I dont think most of the record buying public has a clue about great music and thats why prince songs never do that well commercially. There are too many great tunes to mention but i really loved The Morning papers from the Symbol Cd and The title track from The Gold Experience was 10 times better than The most Beautiful girl in the world and deserved to be number one in the uk.why does a prince tune have to be commercial to be amazing anyway?.The Rainbow Children was the best thing prince done in years and the critics agree with my view that it was superior to the last few albums he has done.I would have gave it a music award a few years back if i had my way.

To each his own. I love Underneath the Cream.

No, not 'Peach'.
He'd have to do a proper remake, if he had any intentions.

Too much freakin' peach edit.

From another thread:

deMatthijs said:

About the studio version:
Its arrangements and the low voice make it a rather bland show.
He actually sounds like he's having a cold or a throat issue.
I've always felt that he never got to the rocker he wants to be.
Bambi and When you were mine are very, very close, but Peach is
not amongst those ranks in rocksongs. His guitar tones are almost
a humorous statement against southern rock biggrin

That's for the 'confuse' wink

Acknowledge Me should have been a massive hit. I just love that song. Unfortunately Prince started to fuck up his career at the time so nobody noticed that how good it is.

They didn't all suck they just aren't hit material. That's a good thing for the most part. However, for a song like So Far So Pleased radio play would have been nice. It was commercial enough but P isn't in that game anymore whether he likes it or not. I think he finally has accepted that and the masses'll have to catch him the next time around.

I always though 'She's Always in My Hair' would've helped ATWIAD.

'The Max' might've done something for the symbol album.

A lot of songs on 'exodus' have commercial/dance club potential.

'Electric Chair' - Best tune on the Batman record

I dunno..."the ? of U"
