Well - I am a bit curious on Kate bush her thoughts on the collaboration. Does anyone have anything on this?

There are some examples online of both Del Palmer's (Kate Bush's engineer) thoughts and those of Michael Koppelman (Prince's engineer at the time):

Johhny Kemp?! Is he the same Johnny Kemp who sang that huge 1988 hit "Just Got Paid"? How did he get involved with co-writing "Soul Sanctuary"?

Gee, how would a songwriter get involved in writing a song?

AGAIN: these were songs Sandra wrote independently, occasionally together with other songwriters (or maybe she incorporated elements from other songs?) and then she presented them to Prince who then took off and decided to make them his own without consulting her.
I see that not only is Johnny Kemp credited, but a subsequent application to the Library of Congress also has 'Tom Hammer' added as an additional author of 'Soul Sanctuary'.

A search under the song title, 'Sanctuary', reveals that a song under this name written by Sandra St Victor, Tom Hammer and Johnny Kemp was created in 1994 and registered on February 10th, 1997.

The song, 'Eye'll Never B Another Fool', off Chaka's 'Come 2 My House' album, is credited in the liner notes to 0(+>, Sandra St Victor and Chaka Khan.

A search at the Library of Congress reveals a song under the title, 'I'll Never B Another Fool' (Registration Number: PA-935-976, Title on © Application: 'I'll never be another fool; I'll never open my legs again') from Chaka Khan's album, 'Come 2 My House' - with authors stated as 'Sandra Saint Victor, Tom Hammer & Vernon Reide'.

The Programme didn't shock me. To me it showed that Prince is more interested in his music than the money he makes.

£40 million is a good figure. I think it showed that Prince had earned about £150 million in his career but has made some bad decisions, bad in the programmes eyes as they didn't make any money but it is what prince wanted to do. No one has ever been able to tell Prince not to do anything and I respect him for the decisions he has made. He takes no crap from anyone.

he is his own master and if he wants to try something he doesn't let anything stop him. He takes risks and has had major success and also major losses. His love for entertainment will keep him going alot longer than Robbie Williams. Let's see if Robbie is still going after 25 years, I think not!

Then why is she credited as co-writer for the song in the album liners?

SongSSS. He took several of her songs and altered them and released them without asking her anything, and often with incorrect credits. See also: Never B Another Fool by Chaka, for instance.

Quote me IN CONTEXT when you want to correct me:

themuse said:
"This is the most confusing part of the documentary. I don’t know if anyone knows about this but some woman called Sandra St Victor claims she wrote Soul Sanctuary. She sings her version – which sounds nothing like his version – then sings what the version we know on Emancipation. She says she was surprised when it turned up on Emancipation. But I can’t figure out if she is saying the first version is what she wrote or the second version. . Someone else can clarify that for me. But she called his lawyer and he sent her a card with a cheque for a very small amount!"

VelvetSplash said:

"Sandra St. Victor formerly of The Family Stand - they co-wrote several songs together, but there was a mis-understanding - she thought they would collaborate in the studio, where as we all know Prince doesn't do that he sends tapes back and forth, so communication broke down.

He took the songs they wrote, and released them without crediting her."

In turn, giving the impression that he was saying Prince did not credit St. Victor on not only other songs, but "Soul Sanctuary" also - which was the song themuse brought up. And as you can see after my response I wasn't the only one that got that impression.

So run along, Bart, to that news thread and apologize to Aerogram about your idiotic remark about his eyesight. And don't ever try to correct me until you can stop the low-life rhetoric about someone's handicap.
This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

I agree with ya Savage. I think it's easy to see why Prince easily USED to over spend but like they say - he has no one to pay 5% commission to for managing this or 10% coms for doing that.

Yes, although the exact title and authorship has yet to be established, I believe.
