Adore Vs. Crucial These are two very beutiful ballards, both well written and preformed. But Which one is better? I personally think that crucial is better, maybe it's the guitar solo at the end. What do you guys think? | |

Personally I love "Crucial" and I think it is one of the finest song ever written by P so I choose this one... but I also like "Adore" as well. | |

Crucial was intended for SOTT, but replaced by Adore - according to the liner-notes of the Crystal Ball-CD.
I think both are great songs to bring this album to conclusion. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

I can see why Crucial was replaced by Adore. Crucial is a much simpler song. Same chords through the whole thing. Not much going on musically. Adore builds up to that glorious crescendo at the end. It's on a whole other level.
Adore is one of Prince's best tracks. Crucial is a nice outtake. | |

I can see why he put Adore on the album in favor of Crucial.
I like Crucial a lot, but Adore has more going for it and the lyrics are so very smoothly cool. One thing I never fully got was why "Crystal Ball" was not on the cd and yet "It's Gonna B A Beautiful Nite" was still there after the various changes. IGBABN is the only song on Sign I would trade for pretty much anything else from those sessions. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps | |
