Yeah Princes only Reggae-Track (yeah, I know he played some Marley-stuff live, but Blue Light is the only Reggae-track he composed). Don´t really like it.
See the man with the blue guitar, maybe one day he`ll be a star...

"Splash" by Prince & The Revolution starts out with a reggae vibe on the verses too.

17 days has a reggae vibe to it if you listen closely, and needless to say is a far superior song. Blue Light is embarassing. My friend is a reggae expert and I live in dread of him hearing it.

Essence

I like this song a lot, it's fun and catchy.

My favourite performance of it being on Arsenio Hall TV show in 1993. Hell all the performances Prince did on Arsenio are on point...

Blue light? Has a little reggae vibe in it but it is still pop and a very catchy and fun song. I don't see how you can diss it.

Only because of its lovely 'rhythm-guitar-played-on-a-cheap-synthesizer'-part...
A phenomenon that the Eurodance-scene embraced wholehartedly smile

And is it a superior song? I find the hook a bit boring...
I'd say that Blue light is a bit catchier, and the lyrics are better too.

'I'll be standing naked with nothin' but a smile on'

Classic Prince.

GIOVANNI

you're fools to make fun of princes "raggae"

they majority of princes music that everyone calls funk is really burning up with a raggae sound rather than funck and I LOVE his rap on the saun moon and stars and its quite possibly the best song on that album

rigpopgoda zippa ???

oh and one other thing that poll for which sound do you like prince best

GOOD GOD how could you choose one song? He could have every musical style in on one track

"Christopher Tracy's Parade" & "New Position" both have a reggae vibe with the steel drums in the background.

And now that Cleo is in the State Pen. I think some people are gonna get mighty confused when they hear that song in the future!
