I know quite a few. Most went off him as his music became more over-produced (from Batman onwards) and lost what they considered was an "edge". By the time some effort was required 2 stay interested (ie after namechange), they just couldn't b bothered. I know a couple who lost interest, as I did, with NPS and Rave. Hell, those r the only releases I didn't buy at the time.
Many of my friends who were once P fans, still like his old stuff, and a lot of his influences: JB, GC, Sly etc. Others went off in other musical directions, or got married had kids and stopped being so fanatical about music at all. Nearly all renewed interest when I played them TRC!!! "We've never been able to pull off a funk number"

I'm sure there many fans who love his 80's work, but think his 90's and beyond work was garbage. Alex Hahn comes to mind--and most of the Uptown staff..lol All you others say Hell Yea!! | |
