Lady In My Life is one of my least favorite MJ songs, I would go for Adore. Personally . I think we are all Boring with No Lives cause all we do is talk about Prince,Criticize and Gossip. Lady In My life.
Still sounds fresh like yesterday, whereas Adore doesn't.Prince overcooked Adore, way too overproduced, plus you needed a lyric sheet to tell what he's singing. 'Lady' is a simple, uncomplicated,love song sang extremely well.Sometimes that's all it takes. Bit of a silly Question on a Prince board though.Even 'Arms of Orion' would win. Ew, Arms of Orion! I guess I'm just a sucker for the more upbeat MJ songs, I love Baby Be Mine and all that stuff... I never got into Adore, I LOVE Do Me Baby Though (as well as Insatiable and Scandalous). Personally . Lady in my life was a beautiful song by M.J. However, I can't get enough of Adore. Damn to love someone that much. WOW!

While I love the shit outta Lady in My Life, I'd go w/ Adore w/o hesitation  Not only do I like Adore better but MJ rarely sings live anymore (if ever) so he wouldn't kill it like he might have back in the day. Plus I'd have to look @ him - who needs that?

Adore is more like an after-sex song. It's cool as hell! But LIML is more like a "together forever" love ballad. I luv em' both. I can't choose, sorry! They did WHAT??!....

Sorry, folks. As much as I like "Lady In My Life," and as much as I admire that song and much of MJ's work, "Adore" is by far and away the better ballad. It is one of the greatest soul ballads of all time. Not that "LIML" isn't, but still . . . Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

Lady In My Life is definitely a steller song. I remember singing over and over on the way to school. Yet as with most comparasions with Prince and MJ you're still talking about apples and oranges. LIML is soulful and has great emotional power which IMHO only Man in the Mirror matched and excelled.Very similar approach to Luther Vandross' early albums.Whereas, Adore equally as soulful but with a tougue and cheek attitude that only a true player would spin. Adore is more in the vain of Sexual Healing or the Isley Bros, In Between the Sheets, even Rick James and Tina Marie's Fire and Ice...songs created with candle light and oils. Adore and LIMF are songs that burn from very different matchs. If you want to have a more fair comparasion might want to look at the Love We Make or Nothing Compares to You or even the Beautiful Ones | |

I dig them Both but I give Adore the edge here because I think this is the Best Prince Slow-Jam of all the ones He has done IMHO.but I think you can do more with "Lady In My Life" Because Stanley Jordan the Badd Ass Guitar Player turned that Song out."I Can't Help It" is still my Favorite MJ Slow Jam&Human Nature right there as well but I wasn't asked on those two. mistermaxxx | |
