MJ's most "Prince inspired" song... We all know MJ is one of Prince's biggest fans. I mean, he called TWO of his sons Prince, that says it all.
The song that jumps into my mind as being very Prince insprired is Black & White: that syncopated beat, the guitar, it reminds me of Prince's "Elephants & Flowers". Are there any other MJ songs that you fthink are realrted to Prince's music? RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

My mother says the reason why Mike messed up his looks the way he did is cuz he wanted to look like Prince in the end!

To me the breakdown in Speed Demon always reminded me of Prince.
There's maybe 8 bars where MJ is just singing with drums and guitar before Q put in the other textures, horns, synths. Of course there are several MJ "inspired" bits on Lovesexy. "New Power New Power lay it on me."Even some wah wah bits. "Put the right letters together and make a better day. Maybe a USA For Africa "tribute" of sorts.

I have to say Mike's music really stands on its own. It may be inspired by other music (more foundational music, not someone as recent as Prince), but it is very much a "Michael Jackson sound" there. Much like Prince has his own sound that may be imitated here and there, but you know it's Prince when you hear him.
They are both one of a kind, true artists.

DARLING NIKKI~ Too "BAD" Michael cant play guitar like PRINCE~ MJ is way too frail to be a guitar god like our man P. Personally . I think we are all Boring with No Lives cause all we do is talk about Prince,Criticize and Gossip. I need a Horny Man is what I Need and probably so do most of yas. I'd have to say that "Dirty Diana" comes across to me as something Prince could have done...I was actually surprised that MJ made it...I didn't think he had the balls to pull something like that off. Now as for the naming the kids after Prince thing...I said it a long time ago, I really do believe that he named them after "His Royal Badness". I don't give a damn about what the excuses are...I've heard them as well...His Grandfather was named Prince...yeah right! Anyhoo...I've just seen that MJ,JB, and Prince clip which clearly shows that MJ has admired Prince, because it was his idea to have Prince come up with him and JB. ___________________
