This may be old, but I caught the HBO Jamie Fox special. At the end, Jamie talks about meeting Prince...

I must say, for a comedian to talk about Prince, maintain the comedy value, and still have something worthwhile and fresh to say, Jamie Fox nailed it. Not only that, he came off in a totally repectful manner which showed that he has a lot of respect for him, and was still vey funny...

Many times when comics talk about Prince, I get ready to roll my eyes sometime during the routine. Not once did I feel that urge in this one, and all I can say is "Brilliant Jamie". I think that even Prince himself would have to laugh, and maybe even admit that this was "Well Done... well said"...

well...what did he say?

I've seen Jamie Foxx mention Prince in his set and he is a huge fan. He would never dis Prince. I can't remember what he said but I remember laughing as well. I actually saw him at the Warner Theatre in DC. The same place I saw Prince last year...

i don't want to spoil it for you. it is quite entertaining...
i will say that he talked about meeting prince and being so impressed by him. but the kicker was a bit about looking into his eyes. again, it is worth checking out for yourself. the show is currently running on HBO and Indemand...

Ever see him do Prince on "In Living Color"? It was insane. He wore the yellow "Gett Off" outfit with his big belly sticking out... I like Jamie, though. I would love to see this bit. Come on, ruin it for us. I don't have cable.

sorry, i was offline for a while...

basically, he referred to prince as 'the man'. the audience applauded in approval. he said how he was so taken by prince's beauty... as an individual and also like a woman (but in a complimentary way). he said prince had eyes like a dear. "don't look in his eyes", he said...

then he repeated some dialogue. he used a deep voice for prince. they talked about some incident between jamie and ll cool j. then prince asks "what do you think Jesus would do in that situation" (classic prince). jamie had a shy, but comical comeback...

he went on and on about how pretty prince was and how "for just two seconds" he (jamie) was a homosexual and wanted to f...k prince. he dared any man in the auditorium to not feel the same. it was a riot...

in conclusion, jamie is walking out and confronts the security guard who notices something 'not quite right'. the guard asks jamie, "so what's wrong... you looked in his eyes didn't you?" jamies says "you too". the guard says "shoot, i've been f..kin' him for two years"...

this was classic. and by the way, the whole show was the best stand up i've seen in a while...

Damn, you all liked this HBO special better than
I did...i was a little disappointed in it, maybe
because i expected alot out of Jamie, he's funny
as fuck.

What I did enjoy was Jamie's impression of Prince's
singing while he was sitting at the piano (dead on
it)...It's in the DVD version, not sure if they play
it on the HBO version.
