The Hollywood premiere of The Matrix Reloaded took place today at the Mann Village Theatre and Prince was there.

The celebrity roll-out for the Hollywood premiere not only included his royal purpleness but the cast members including Hugo Weaving, Carrie-Anne Moss, Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne and Nona Gaye.

Others in attendance were Sandra Bullock, Harry Hamlin, Melissa Joan Hart, Ashton Kutcher, Lucy Lui, Tobey Maquire, Tara Reid, Ice Cube, Chris Judd, Will Smith, Tori Spelling, and Daman Wayans.

The Australian premiere of the movie takes place at the Hoyts cinema complex at Fox Studios on May 15 but unlike the Hollywood premiere the Sydney showing looks like being devoid of stars with the exception of Australia's rent-a-crowd soapies. The main stars of the movie including Weaving, Moss, Fishburne and Reeves won't be at the Aussie premiere, even though it takes place at the exact same location the movie was shot.

It appears the stars are too busy spin doctoring the Northern Hemisphere to find time for their own premiere.

I wish there were pictures, I wanna see his fro.

Didn't he have a thing with Nona Gaye? Or am I thinkin' of someone else?

Cool! Glad to see Prince gets out, he sure likes movies.

Since Prince is a big fan of The Matrix, I was wondering if he was going to attend the premiere.
Now I know.

According to this memo, the premier is today, May 7th and Prince is on the guest list. So I guess it's not too late to see him at the premier.That article is from Australia and remember, they're always a day ahead.

Everybody says Matrix is interesting, frightening.. I saw the first one.. Why the does he wear sunglasses?? To my mind it' s a stupid film which really doesn' t make me eager to see the second!! Besides I cannot bare this new lazy fashion : "we're not our own master, the world is bad, there are machines everywhere... Nothing is true.." My god! smile and be open-minded! Go to the socialist party! Vote! Go on a trip to Disney world! Be a veggie! It' s not because a film is said to be good on all tv channels that it actually is. If machines control our actions ( I AM FREE!!!) why don' t they make a Mr . Smith appear on the very point Neo stands, he would explode... I'm not against that poor Neo but it seems illogical...Besides, the action scenes are always the same!! I' m against that film which develops an opinion a wannabe philosoph who used to be my ex shares.

I don't think he was there Cherrie. There's no pictures of him from the premiere and if he had been there you know someone would have taken a picture.

Unfortunately they would have taken the pic to rag on him. "WTF's up w/ his hair...clothes...whatever."

Wish they'd get a clue.

People, go and rent "They Live" by John Carpenter. You'll find quite a lot of similarities between the two films. They at least use their shades for a specific purposes in "They Live".

I met a friend for dinner last night and she had a story she knew I'd appreciate.

Her husband's a screenwriter based in LA. He attended the Matrix premiere thanks to John Singleton, who couldn't make it. Anyway, she tells me how her husband always likes to have popcorn before the movie starts. He's sitting in the middle of a row and has to inconvenience folks on his way out. Returning to his seat he inconveniences them again. Once seated his companion says: "Hey! Do you know you just made Prince get up!?"

Thought that was pretty flippin' cool! (Frankly, if it were me, I don't know how I'd be able to watch the movie! *swoon*)
