The JAM - Funk National Anthem is the BEST live track. Larry may have pulled Prince into an odd direction on the ground, but on the stage, THIS song HAS GOT TO BE my all time favorite live track... the crowd is totally into it, Larry pumps the crowd into a frenzy, the P solo is just a powersaw through the brain, the band stops SOOO tight you couldn't get a quarter in there.
MAN what a jam. The Last Otan Track: www.funkmusician.com/what.mp3

OH MY GOD my brotha. Go find it online or on a disc somewhere. I don't know the show date, don't know nothing about it, other than Prince introduces this song as "the funk national anthem" and HE IS RIGHT. Have you ever heard "The Jam" by Graham Central Station"? The Last Otan Track: www.funkmusician.com/what.mp3

I couln't agree more, nothing cones close to Larry & GCS'S version. As a matter of fact if anyone is looking for some serious funk check out their Ain't No Doubt About It CD. This is my favorite frm GCS.

This is my favorite frm GCS. Ehh, it's okay, but too dry for me. It's definitely full of the funk, but I dunno, I just don't like the recording quality of the original - sounds like a bad demo or something. The Last Otan Track: www.funkmusician.com/what.mp3
