foreign fans getting a raw deal?

I just went to my local record store and after 2 years thats the rainbow children just getting released and when prince played the UK he only played in england and not scotland plus it was only 2 gigs. The overall cost for TRC and One nite alone...live cost me £85 and thats out of order.Maybe its time for prince to remember that he has fans outside the USA.I would like to ask other fans what they had to do/pay to get these albums and if there are actually any countries out there that you cant get the TRC album in?.

He played 5 gigs here last year (3 in London, 2 in Manchester) and h was in Ireland too.

He was selling TRC at the show for £15 including VAT.

I bought TRC on import when it came out over here (London) and it was bloody expensive. I got ONA Live from the NPGMC year 2.
I think over the years European fans especially have gotten a better deal from Prince. He toured here with SOTT and not the States and he seems to play some very rare stuff at his shows/afterparties in Europe compared to the US. I do agree with you though that TRC should have had a European release, considering Europe makes up the majority of his fanbase.

He may have sold the cd at the gigs but it has just made it to the recordshops 2 years after i got it on import.I only just saw a review last saturday. And it was actually was 3 gigs(sorry) but none in scotland which was'nt good enough.Madoona can gig here,so can Bon Jovi,u2,etc,etc.so why cant prince come here?.He said back in 1993 that the scots knew how to party and are one of the worlds best crowds.

I don't like that US / rest of the world discussion.

From 1978 - 1985, he toured almost without exception only the U.S.
From 1986 - 1995, he toured more Europe than U.S.
From 1996 - 2002, he toured more U.S. than Europe

Fans in the U.S. + Europe + Japan got a pretty fair amount of shows last year.
He cannot come to every country in Europe or state in the U.S. every tour.

...
but I get your point nevertheless.
I'm from Germany and cannot complain (shows in 86, 87, 88, 90, 92, 98, 2002) but one of best friends is from Glasgow and he feels neglected for years when it comes to Prince.

Artists say that about every country they visit.Perhaps he knows his fanbase has dwindled too much to visit Scotland. He probably performed to 12-15,000 people when he toured England last year.Compare that to his amazing run at Wembley Arena in 1990 (20+ nights with 11-12k in attendance each night)

I bought TRC on Import right away.I don't feel short-changed at all. £20 isn't exactly breaking the bank!
