Hallucination Rain Does anybody think that Prince was doing drugs around the time of Exodus? This song is pretty amazing if it was not inspired by drugs of any sort. It really kinda spooked me when I first heard it. It's so damn dark.

I loved the music he was making at this time. me too i love the music from the gold/exodus era! i'm not sure if prince was doing drugs then -kind of think not- but one thing's for sure, the music was full of references to it: "light us up and take a hit" and "light up another one dude" from now; "left all the funny-smelling cigarettes to the american boys" ('course this line seems to be anti-) from the good life; at any rate, on exodus, he sure depicted sonny and michael as being potheads: "you ain't been smokin' that headache weed!" and finally, in the vid for rock n' roll is alive, prince himself can be seen actually tokin' up, although the screen goes all fuzzy. cool effect nevertheless. thanks supafunky! i was thinking about this topic recently and forgot to start my own thread. u saved me the effort.
