Hahn's book on Prince

I just read Hahn's book. I found it full of interesting info and very comprehensive but he does paint a picture of Prince as a control freak and someone who treats his staff like dirt...

I say if his music's so good, who cares?

What do other orgers think of the book?

This is pretty common knowledge...

What do other orgers think of the book?

I think it's a useless book for a fan... Too much rehash and no new info...
It's more interesting for someone who is not a fan and just wants to read a book about Prince...

Interesting read...however, I finished the book feeling frustrated and unsatisfied. I believe there is way more to Prince then craving chart success as the book went on and on about. I was sadden by how the book didn't clearly and in detail provide information on why Prince is the person he is TODAY. Granted some people disagree w/ where Prince is today. I got the impression that the author falls in that camp. Regardless, the fact is Prince is at where he's at. Example, the book mentioned nothing on WHY of all the religions to adhere to, Prince chose the Jehovah Witness? Larry Graham influence aside, I don't think any one of you would devote your entire life to the religious beliefs of your best friend MERELY because that person is your best friend. If you wouldn't do it, why is it so easy for people to assume that Prince has done that very thing? I can't explain it well, but it is odd to me that for a time, people felt what Prince had to say was right on target. Then after going through all his trials and tribulations, he has settle into being a Witness. Consequently, some people think he's lost his mind. Maybe! Just as well, it could be that Prince is still on target just some people aren't hip to the rare housquake. Since the Rainbow Children, I've half ass been checking out the Jehovah Witnesses. It was profound to me that a person of Princes' stature and influence would publicly make Jehovah Witness his home. I started looking into it for no other reason then that. So far what I've gathered is mostly agreeable to me. They don't mence words and they don't mence meaning of the WORD. However, the first thing that did set off alarms w/ me is 1914. So, I'm not some converted believer, I'm in the process of finding out what all the comotion is about. My next door neighbor is a Witness and she has NOT been at my door 24/7 since I've shared my interest w/ her. She tells me to read the NWT and feel free to ask questions as they come up. THAT'S IT. Worse case scenerio if you can call it that is when we happen to be in our yards at the same time, occassionally she'll ask me how my bible reading is coming along and ask if I have any questions about what I've read. She's just my neighbor who happens to be a Jehovah's Witness. I feel pretty fortunate actually. Anyway, what would have been a fascinating book for me is if the author had spent quality time contrasting pre and post Jehovah Witness Prince in regards to his control issues, personal and professional relationships and his inner well being. Now THAT would have been a GREAT read. Is there REALLY a difference between pre JW Prince and post JW Prince??? Is he better or the same as before? If he's better, quantify examples of how he is better and explain what it is about Jehovah Witness instruction that makes him better. If he's not better, then perhaps Jehovah Witness is not all Prince says it is. That's what people really need to know isn't it?
