But he never left. He just changed. Many of us may not like the change, but that's beside the point. By the way, a writer by the name of Donald Spoto hypothesized that Jesus uttered the verses in question in consideration of the women in his society. In Jesus' day, a man could divorce a woman simply by declaring it in public or moving out of the house. Such abandoned wives often went destitute.
