Am I obsessed with Prince??? Although I love Prince's 80's output and think that was his best and most creative era, nowadays I seldom listen to these classic albums. Now that I think about it, I also seldom listen to his 90's output. And IF I listen to a Prince album, I seldom play it from beginning to end. I guess I've heard his music simply too much. The only Prince album I still regularly spin is TRC.
Slowly I'm beginning to wonder what I'm doing over here at the org. I seldom listen to his music, yet I visit this place almost every day. I've read practically every book about him, own all of his albums and many bootlegs, paid a visit to most of the Prince related websites around, saw a bunch of concerts and still it's not enough. I'm seriously starting to wonder why I keep coming here. What's wrong with me? Am I obsessed? Are there others like me? Somebody help me, please!!! RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

Do you own a pair of boots with Prince's face painted on them? Do you dress up as Prince at concerts?
Then, rest assured, there's others out there that have set the BAR on crazy WAAAY higher than you or I will ever see. Way up there. The Last Otan Track: www.funkmusician.com/what.mp3

Damn I'm almost 180 from you. I still play Prince from all eras but really don't give a damn about the personal doings of the man. I own no books, posters or memorabilia (other than a Jam of the Year" tour t-shirt) To me it's always been about the music. I guess I have just never been one to hero-worship. Thanks, otan, your remarks made me realise I might not be totally lost in "Prince"-world... BTW, I never considered myself a "fam", that probably speaks for my sanity as well... I think the majority of the people here who post regularly are obsessed. I am proud to admit tha I've been obsessed for years now. Prince is old news and his music is gospel like and uncool. Haters travel in packs and they are offended or threatened by klhk, haters express intense hostility toward the subject of hate. Haters are annoyed and roll thier eyes when klhk is paid a compliment. ask yourself, are u a hater?

Somebody help me, please!!! I don't know that anything is wrong with you. Maybe you just like interacting with the people here. I don't listen to Prince as much as most here seem to either, unless I get a new disc (whether official or boot). There is more to the world of music than just one artist. Even if that artist happens to be your favorite, you can burn out on that material. I go through phases with a lot of different music. But my regard for Prince will always be extremely high.... my better half would say to say the least. Hi funkaholic1972,
I know exactly what you mean but I note a difference when I listen to music from the 90'ies and the 80'ies. The albums from the 90'ies were great in the 90'ies but much of the stuff has lost its appeal to me. The albums from the 80'ies still sound great to me but I've just listened too often to them. Nowadays, I usually listen to TRC or rather ONA live stuff. The reason why I'm still keen on every snippet on Prince (although the magic has somehow vanished during the previous 10 years) can only be that I'm obsessed like all of us. Prince belongs to my life for almost 20 years now and I still have the "whole picture" in mind when it comes to him.
