1+1+1 is Sarah Probably been discussed before, but on a recent road trip with old friends - there it was. For me, the TRC studio version of "1+1+1 is 3" has the funk; whereas, the live ONA version, like Sarah, is like listening to music without bass.

it seems like prince tried to stay close to the studio version of 1+1+1 is 3 on ONA live at least as far as the structure of the song is concerned. i prefer the live excerpt that was posted on npgmc back in the summer of last year - remember that one, where he says, "y'all want a copy of this?"
