I caught Prince's white NPGMC hat at the KCMO HitNRun in 2001. I still don't know how I did it, but I checked the back seat all the way to St Louis to be sure it was still there. That was too exciting!

I caught John Blackwell's drumstick at the end of the Ruby Skye Show in SF. What was kinda funny was how it happened. Bobby from the Dream Factory (I think it was him) was standing right next 2 me - actually he was jumpin' up and down, wailin' all over. And since I'm much shorter than him, I couldn't really move. I'm kinda watchin' him 2 make sure he doesn't knock me over and all of a sudden I see this object hit him right in the chest! He felt it but didn't see what it was. It fell right 2 the floor and hit my boots. I looked down, saw what it was and couldn't believe nobody saw it. I picked it up and was like "Oh shit!" Bobby just looked at me like "Fuck, I coulda had that!" After that crazy-ass show, this really made my night!

I've caught a Michael B drumstrick (Gold tour) and also a Mike Scott, purple guitar pick (which was at the intimate, Brixton Academy gig in, erm' 98, I think?). I also have some great photos of that gig and had one of our friendly, UK tabloids offering me cash after the gig for the film.

Prince had, typically, banned all photography, including the press, so they were very interested in the shots I had taken. I told them where they could put their interest, as they were purely for private use only.

NO! But I had two near misses that I have only recently been able to come to terms with!

Chicago, Nov. 2000 Hit N Run – Prince comes back on stage with a white towel that had the gold symbol embroidered on the front. He came and stood directly in front of me and my crew – we had been showing him crazy love all night and he was feeling us! He stood there for a few minutes with the towel (he did not wipe any sweat or anything on it!) I should have seen it coming but damn… the man was standing RIGHT THERE… my focus was a little blurred! All of a sudden, he throws the towel directly AT ME! I think he intended for me to get it, but some girl with orange hair who had wedged herself into our mix, reached out in front of me and grabbed it! It was one of those “if you snooze, you lose” moments! I was mad until Prince had me pulled on stage to dance face to face with him! That kinda made up for it!

My second miss was April 2001 in Oakland – I was not on the front row but I was still close, I would say about 3rd or 4th row. Prince comes onstage with one of those cold brims he’d sometimes wear. Rhonda wears them all the time! It was white with the black band around the top that said NPG Music Club. Prince throws the hat out into the crowd and it’s coming dead at me!! I reach up and feel it’s mine!!
All of a sudden, the dude sitting next to me muscles me out the way and grabs MY HAT!!!
I was too through after that! Inside the hat was the name of a hat shop in Chicago where Prince must have gotten the hat! I’m from Chicago!! That was an omen! That was supposed to be My Hat!!!

It wsn't me, but there was a guy who was in the center section next to mine who was doing his very best Diamonds & Pearls-era Prince look...he had the Typhoon and EVERYthing.

Anyway, at some point during the concert Prince took the mirror-heart thing he was wearing around his wrist and gave it to the guy. The mirror-heart thing was way cool, and I was really surprised to see Prince give it away, but it was cool to see him appreciate his fans like that...

Yes I did. 2 things in fact.
I got a a "SYMBOL Guitar" pick and a Lolly pop still wrapped, both from PRINCE.

I have been very lucky with getting a few things
while on stage in Detroit Rhonda gave me a pic
and Kirk gave me a drumstick.
I have gotten a purple and white symbol pic from Paisley parties along with drumsticks from John Blackwell.
and at 2 differndt shows Takumi gave a a white pic and a green pic that says Prince on them.
I also recieved a drumstick from JellyBean and Jerome at The Time show in Detroit last year.

OH and at the ONA 1st show a tamborocca.
