I couldn't care less what Prince is "supposed" to be doing with his fan base, i.e whittling it down to "supposed" fams who are "supposedly" keeping him in the manor he is accustomed to.

I've never joined the NPGMC.
I haven't bought ONAL.
I didn't even go to the One Night Alone Concerts.

Why? Not because I'm pissed off with Prince but because I'm a tight arse who doesn't want to spend any money.

Prince will always have a special place in my heart and I'd like to thank him for the good times over the last 14 years.

I imagine, if there was anything that he wanted, it would be for people to be in touch with their own truth. But even this is a guess.

Maybe there will be those that choose the JW relegion after some consideration of reading info freely available to them at the site. Maybe there will be some obsessed people who idolise him and therefore follow the faith of his choosing. Yet that is different to him attempting to create a cult, that is the responsibility of the chooser.

It doesn't appear to me that Prince is attempting to create an online cult. I suppose it goes with the territory of fame to have an extreme number of people who will attempt to live their lives through him. That is their problem, not Princes.

The focus here is an extreme group of people that in all probability are the minority. This is not the whole picture; there are a great deal of people who are just into his music and enjoy the site like any other site. Like that site, I see this place the same, a place to express, learn and escape!!

I wouldn't say Prince is attempting to form an online cult as much as something similar is naturally emerging within the NPGMC fanbase who soak up his theological teachings.

Let's wait and see how it plays out, only been open a couple of weeks right now...
