I'm sure like the rest of you - Being a fan of Prince - you get the emotional rollercoaster of a ride - What things have you been disappointed with (don't want to hear a single mention of the NPGMC) and what have you been overjoyed by.


DISAPPOINTED
I had a really bad version of the Bootleg Charade for a few years and had grown to love 'Old Friends 4 Sale' - so when I saw it listed on the Vault album I was eagerly looking forward to a crackle free studio version of one of my favourite songs - I'm sorry but when I heard the version that had been included I was absolutely gutted. I can't listen to that version at all - the soul of the song got ripped out.

OVERJOYED
Finally getting to hear 'The Beautiful Ones' live last year after all this time - Didn't think I'd get to hear that again but wow what a classic and a more beautiful song may never be written again.

I'm sure there's peeps out there that disagree with me but that's one of the best things about Prince Fams - For every one that thinks that SOTT was the best, there's one that thinks that Rave was better...maybe.

I was disappointed with my first Prince concert. After watching the Lovesexy and SOTT video concerts constantly for 2 years I was disappointed with the Nude Tour.

I was overjoyed with the D+P live tour. It was much more exciting.

It is not that prince can't do any wrong but i was upset when he changed his name, because i have the tattoo.


Everything else is perfect...

Me 2!! exact same thing Nude tour just left me cold. It was my first P concert and he didn't seem 2 be going 4 it like I'd expected. Overjoyed at finally seeing an aftershow (Hippodrome London 98) and with the ONA concerts last year.

anyway, disappointments/overjoyments: i don't think i can exactly give any insight into p's past body of work, cuz i'm a relatively new freek. 'less u want me 2 give my perspective of things...

that's funny, I think comparing videos of the tours that the beginning (of the nude tour) and quite a few of the numbers later on (when doves cry, baby I'm star) where choreographed at an exciting breakneck intensity...

Yeah, you have a point. When I viewed it again on video the opening is fantastic. I remember a UK journalist saying it was the best 20 minutes of a concert he'd ever seen. What was disapointing was that the momentum was lost after that. I think it didn't help that my expectations were sky high.
