Why don't u like GB??? I don't understand why people don't like Graffiti Bridge...!
It's a great album filled with cool and funky dancetracks, a couple of sexy ballads, and the other inspired by the outstanding 60'ies I don't see nothing wrong with that album, Morris and Jerome also did some cool songs. Not to mention Mavis who made those tracks unbelievably powerful and bright...! Elephants and flowers: Something u just must hear! Those lyrics, those nonchalant words makes it work more than enough...!

I just find it boring.
We Can Funk, Joy In Repetition and Thieves In The Temple are cool tho'. I've never understood why people rate The Question Of U so highly!

I have never been able to stay awake through the entire movie. However, Morris & Jerome's humor were definite highlights.

Like all albums, it has its weak points. But GB's weak points set the bar embarrassingly low. The title track was such a throwaway. And the house mix of Round and Round that made it on the album was not as good as the original. Check out The Mountains and the Sea, a Prince podcast by yours truly and my wife. I've never seen the movie and I don't c how could the songs fit in a motion picture, but I liked Round and Round and the title song... They fill me with such love spirit

It still makes for a good 8 song Prince album, like some
of his early 80's ones. So if you shed 9 of the mediocre and crap tunes, it's ok. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I also made this a few weeks ago to play in the car on my
way out on saturday night. It doesn't work really well, I do however enjoy it more than the original GB album: 01. can't stop this feeling I got 02. new power generation 03. the question of u 04. elephants & flowers 05. god is alive 06. we can funk 07. joy in repetition 08. thieves in the temple -extended 09. still would stand all time and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I still listen to the album from time to time (and songs always come up in my MP3 shuffle while I'm at work), but my least favorites are: 1) Graffiti Bridge (perhaps my all-time least favorite Prince song, and certainly on my list of songs I would never, ever share with anyone voluntarily) 2) Round and Round 3) Love Machine (Don't hate it, just find it a bit of a yawn) On the other side, my favorites: 1) Joy in Repetition (The polar opposite of "Graffiti Bridge" -- I would include it on any mix CD I might burn for anyone interested in getting to know P's music) 2) Elephants and Flowers (Now THAT song fills me with love and spirit and spares me a lot of swiss cheese) 3) Theives in the Temple (EXCELLENT) Check out The Mountains and the Sea, a Prince podcast by yours truly and my wife. I can't put myself together enough to listen to it... it's so boring in the end...

I suppose this comment is about the 'extended' version since the album version is rather short and I can't really imagine anyone thinking it getting 'boring in the end'. But hey, personal taste. I think the long version kicks ass. It has so many things going for it. There's a lot of cool elements in there. "Put your foot on the rock, lemme show you how to clock" "Now the sound of my voice is pumpin in yo chest" and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I made a Prince only version of GB too. I added some tracks like Dance With The Devil, The Grand Progression, and replaced We Can Funk with the 86 version. I also took out the title track and added the long version of Thieves. Now this version of GB is by far one of my P faves...it has made me appreciate songs I previously ignored like Still Would Stand, New Power Generation, and Elephants...
