The Waterboys' cover of "When Doves Cry" This is just a preview, but the track is part of the upcoming 3CD compilation "Atlantic Rain", which basically contains recordings that could have been on the "Fisherman's Blues" box set, but Mike Scott had not checked a lot of the unlabeled reels they recorded in the mid-1980s. . https://www.youtube.com/w..._ZkWOek_XI . Nice. Fisherman's blues is one of my all-time favorite albums and one of the firstthings i ever shoplifted in my youth.. I've got the Fisherman's box set of (i think) 6 cds of outtakes and was surprised when they announced this set. There's also a set of recordings from the band called something something magnificent seven that contains multiple cds of outtakes from those sessions...they're gonna mine that album to the bone. S'alright, though. It's a gem and Mike Scott is great. I know he's a huge prince fan.

...there's also 'the live adventures of the waterboys' album, which contains a performance of purple rain. And there are clips on YouTube of them performing purple rain at first avenue when they toured through there shortly after p's death.

Fisherman's Blues was one of the best records I heard from the 80s and it still stands today.
