Rumor: Sony/Legacy to announce new Prince album called "Decades" in June, featuring unreleased music

Rumor: Sony/Legacy to announce new Prince album called "Decades" in June. The album will contain vault tracks from all of the decades of Prince's career.

.

If they announce this in June, then the release is likely in Fall/Autumn, so basically that's gonna be this year's only release, because it'll be unlikely another thing gets released which would compete with this.

Yep.

Hopefully, it's not a (lazy) single cd album but at the very least a 2 cds compilation with something close to 30 songs on it.

One can dream...

If it's true it's a shit bland title.

The release could be really enjoyable and maybe the start of a series of albums.

More than likely a compilation of tracks rejected from previous SDE sets, and just whatever they could cobble together.

If it is > 2 cd is good for me. If it is 1 cd for each decade is very good for me.

The title probably indicates the time we have to wait for a Parade Superdeluxe Edition…

If it's real, my guess is that it will be one disc with ten to twelve songs. I feel that's the absolute bare minimum they could do so realistically, that's exactly what they'll do. But look, it's better than what we've been getting over the last few years so for that alone, it's a step in the right direction. And if it's the beginning of a steady stream of vault releases then that would be great.

Only, of course, if this is actually real.

I think it could be a good year but we'll see. There's still a possible 3121 release in the fall and maybe Act II for RSD Black Friday.

I can't even bring myself to be excited about this, knowing that Londell and Charles will find some way to fuck it up or choose the most underwhelming tracklisting possible. At this point I wouldn't put it past them to include all 5 or 6 of the one-off singles that they've already released since taking over lol

The bare minimum Estate will most likely add those previously released singles again lol

Going by that title... what if it's just a re-package of The Hits with the odd track here and there to make it look desirable? ... hmmm ...

I really think we should prepare ourselves mentally for this to happen 'cuz I'm sure it will.

Obviously, All A Share, 7 Remix, Free & With This tear will be in this tracklist.

How funny would it be if this was like 4Ever where it had one vault track on the entire thing and, yep you guessed it, it was With This Tear released last month.
