Honestly, I can't wait to read this. Thanks so much for the link! Eric always was one of the true musician-musicians in Prince's entourage. No yeay-sayer. Finally he wrote it. He always kept all notes from every session he did. So i guess it'll reveal a lot of extra - hopefully unheard new information, and insight studio work.

Yeah this will probably be good because Leeds is one of the few associates who isn't a complete psychopath

Wasn't Alan Leeds going to write a book about his time with Prince, or perhaps he is currently?

I hope the making of NEWS will finally be covered in details. Sadly, all the Eric Leeds interviews I heard so far omitted those sessions. Either way, this book certainly is good news, Eric is a great storyteller A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

Im glad this book is being written, Eric and Duane are so important in the Prince world and credible people, but Eric always seemed a bit miserable about his time with Prince and if i remember rightly said he didnt much like Prince’s music. Do i remember that wrong? I always got the impression he treated the whole Prince thing as a paid gig and would have been happier playing a purer form of jazz. I’m all for a critical and non-sycophantic take on the Prince experience (bring back the Netflix doc!!!), but I get such cold vibes from Eric. Hopefully I’m proved wrong. Certainly he was an awesome player who elevated Prince’s sound. Would love to read an Alan Leeds book! PIPS! Eurgh...

I'm really looking forward to this, because I remember at the time (1987-1988) Eric seemed to be "pressed"into denying any Prince involvement with the Madhouse projects. I'm really looking forward to a factual account of some of these sessions, and obviously more information about NEWS , the unreleased Madhouse albums, xpectation, the flesh and any other sessions.
