Eric always was one of the true musician-musicians in Prince's entourage. No yeay-sayer.

Finally he wrote it. He always kept all notes from every session he did.

So i guess it'll reveal a lot of extra - hopefully unheard new information, and insight studio work.

i always wanted to ask Eric about the "Hot Thing" session.
In the extended remix there is a great break with just Eric's solo against the hard beat.
Shortly after that, it proceedes to a chorus followed by just Prince's guitar against that beat.
The one thing in common to both passages is a "WHOOO!" from Prince, like he was totally impressed by what Eric just threw down on tape!
So much better than the album version!!!

Wasn't Alan Leeds going to write a book about his time with Prince, or perhaps he is currently?

I hope the making of NEWS will finally be covered in details. Sadly, all the Eric Leeds interviews I heard so far omitted those sessions.

Either way, this book certainly is good news, Eric is a great storyteller

Based on interviews like the one he did with Michael Dean, I think Eric would be a wealth of great information.

I'm really looking forward to this, because I remember at the time (1987-1988) Eric seemed to be "pressed"into denying any Prince involvement with the Madhouse projects. I'm really looking forward to a factual account of some of these sessions, and obviously more information about NEWS , the unreleased Madhouse albums, xpectation, the flesh and any other sessions.
