Utter tripe understanding by him of Prince writing 1999 in 1982. I’d imagine Duane Tudahl must have found it difficult working with them and having to put them right - and probably explains why he isn’t any more. There may or may not be something coming!

If that's his level in maths, this may explain why he believes the releases don't sell (Disclaimer: I absolutely suck at maths, but 1982 + 7 remains within my capacities.) A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

That said, silly questions call for silly replies. "— Why ON EARTH would anyone think about 1999 in 1982? — Well, dear, the year 2000 was kind of a frequent topic in the last few decades of the 20th century. — I don't see the connection between 1999 and 2000, though. — Of course you don't. — What's a box-set? — A collection of CDs. — What's a CD? — Kind of like a collection of Flac files, but it's on a little plastic disc." . The level of douche baggery is reaching comical proportions. If this was some rando pop star or boy band, I would simply point my finger and laugh at all concerned parties. As a Prince fan, I'm forced to hold my nose and hope to pull a few cherries from this bowl of pits sometime before I die. It's like, you used to be able to go to the hardware store and tell the guy there the project you had in mind and they would hook you up with everything you need cuz they knew their shit...these days, you better hang on to your receipts, cuz your gonna wear a path while some idiot wage-tard sells you a buncha shit he doesn't know what's good for. Fuck a buncha mcmillions.

NouveauDance said: So disrespectful of this clagnut to blab about fans not buying the boxsets. Casual listeners may not have bought them, but they are NEVER going to buy such prestige releases by ANY artist, that's not the point of such collections. It's about legacy; preserving and expanding the historic, cultural and artistic context of these performers and their most important works. It's their job to bring new fans in through more accessible gateways. Stranger Things did more in that respect than anything this incarnation of the estate has done and by all accounts that was due to the show's producers not the estate who at the time were busy shoveling limited resources into Titanic turkey moneypit musicals. . He speaks about fans as if we're petulant, greedy children who want ice-cream before we've eaten our vegetables. Remember we're paying customers, we're free to express our opinions about these product and the companies that produce them. Yes, Londell’s unprofessional and childish behavior is not the way to build a good relationship with the fans. U are now an official member of the New Power Generation

I haven't read Beam's book but he's the one who wrote that article calling out the Estate not too long ago, isn't he? Admitedly i'm not too sure what he wrote when Prince was alive, let alone in the 90s (I may have read some stuff without remembering it was him), but bottom line (and honest) question to those who know: was he in fact condescending and snarky? If anyone, I'd have thought Cheryl "CJ" Johnson was the one making fun of the symbol, calling Prince "Symbolina" or some similar crap IIRC, so I'm a little surprised Beam is mentioned but she isn't. Unless I'm mistaken, the "original" version of TCI remains exclusive to the NPGMC, thus wav. only (I put "original" in quotation marks because technically, the version that was released on Tidal and later was the first planned 2003 configuration before Prince reworked it slightly in late 2003 or early 2004, the only differences anyway being The Dance replacing My Medallion and a slightly different tracks order). . BTW, a 21 year old mystery was finally solved last year when someone I'm not supposed to name (I guess) confirmed that the slight overdubs to some tracks (between their original 2001 NPGMC releases and their 2004 rerelease on TCI and TS) were made in 2003, when the albums were being compiled, instead of being previously unreleased alternate versions from the original sessions. So, in terms of strict chronological recording order, TCI and TS comes right before Musicology (or, who knows, right after it depending when Prince finished each album exactly, but my understanfing is Musicology was most likely completed after the TCI box-set), not right before TRC as previously assumed. Princevault doesn't reflect this information, so I think not too many people know that yet. (And before anyone asks, that person didn't reply when I also asked them if The Dance was itself from 2000/2001 or from 2003, so this remains to be determined.) For someone in his position Londell sure doesn't know much about Prince's history... fair enough if he was behind the scenes just counting the money - but he's not the right person to front up to media. Howe was far more knowledgeable and also not as condescending. It is what it is. This is what happens when a slick lawyer gets in the mix. Shame really. He's making it frustrating being a Prince fan. Fist of all, Databank, thank you. - Throwing shit at the fans... LONDELL, I address this to you, as it seems you frequent this page from what i understand of your comments : - You state; "(...)but many of them, haven't even bought the box sets to actually access and listen to the unreleased music that has already been released." Well, (probably) the price of the set was what blocked the sales. Certainly for W2A, D&P, SOTT, etc, and the old fashioned approach of these releases, with incomplete information. The endlessly milking of the (incomplete release) Purple Rain era, etc. The one thing that was regularly updated was the uninsprired, unwelcomed merchandise garbage like sheets and boots and candles... Yes "(you're) often the target of fans", what do you expect? How come you think? What do you actually know about Prince's work? Name me 10 of the +190 unreleased songs that are available from the last ten years, and then name me ten unreleased song from the vault not availble yet. Or, can you name in the right order the first 10 albums with the years of release? I bet my golden ass on it, and believe me, i'm gay! Every Prince fan can do this in their sleep. By the way, 10 years since Prince's passing, so called +190 unreleased songs. That's a rate of 19 songs a year, from one of the most prolific artists who recorded almost daily fresh music. - Worst of all you state: "(fans say)"We want to hear everything before we die". But we also have an obligation to make sure that it's produced sonically in the right way. So generations of now, are able to hear the music, and hear the production, not as it was done 40 years ago, 30 years ago, but hear the production sonically for the moment so they don't just initially turn off. Because we have to keep younger generations engaged." Just...DON'T CHANGE SONGS, SOUND, PRODUCTION ! It's THANKS TO US, the older fans you can cash in. Younger people don't buy music the way we do. This PRINCE.ORG was once the most visited Prince fan site for news, etc. It's a perfect measurement to udnderstand why fans are leaving. Prince's music isn't the problem, but the lack of clear communication, openness, an ongoing upbuilding of serious mistakes made on post-releases, fucked up mixes of unreleased songs, info mistakes, incompleteness, etc. The mistake of splitting up the Diamonds&Love project is one, the broadway disaster another, the Netflix contract you signed was beyond understanding; why give them all access for so long, with so much restrictions? You probably blindly believed it would build a mountain of cash. Bad business decisions, one after the other. And if previous releases were managed better through advertisement, communication and interviews, regular podcasts, info on what sort of work is done on vault material, to keep us informed on regular a basis, lack of releases, it would've reached an even larger public, imo. And, it would've kept the media warm so the public was informed. You could've used us the older fans to help you out to avoid the made mistakes, simply THROUGH COMMUNICATION. Most of us are even willing to do that for free, out of love for the art. Because we know our guy, we know every note. The Bowie estate, Dylan, Springsteen, are perfect examples of how to do things much better. Can't turn back the clock, save Prince's legacy and just leave. . Note that "new music" is vague and could just be a single track. Didn't they use that description also last year and then it ended up being that acoustic version of Free? That's true. The tweet also doesn't say what form the release of this new music will take. It could easily just be referring to the songs that the people going to the celebration thing will hear. It's the new album according to Charles on X. U are now an official member of the New Power Generation
