Prince and Paul McCartney - unheard version of “Long and Winding road Unheard recording of The Long And Winding Road by Prince, says McCartney.
- https://www.noise11.com/n...g-20260527 - “I was with some guy a couple of years ago, so it was after Prince had died,” McCartney said. “This guy said, ‘Have you heard Prince do Long And Winding Road?’ I said, ‘Well no. That’s one of my songs. I don’t think he ever did it.'” “He said, ‘Well he did. He did it in rehearsal. He was rehearsing it for something.'” [Edited 5/27/26 7:16am] "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts." i think one of the worst songs the beatles ever put out, but it's so over the top saccharine that i think p actually could've done a decent version with that voice o his

Yes, there is even a link to the Monte Carlo performance of the song in the link provided in the first post.
"Appears to be performed" should be "Was performed"

SuperHero said: Appears to be performed a few times live too: Indeed - I saw him perform it with Elton John at the O2. It's been too long since you've had your ass kicked properly:

Can't believe you said this. Because it's a well crafted song, and begin to end it touches all the emotions intended, through a simple love story, but captured the end of a Beatels era. I can Imagine Prince loving this song, horns and strings and all. - Wonder if Paul can pull this one off with Londell. SHOUT : "Londell? Don't fuck this up! Give Paul the oportunity." Would really love to hear what Paul is up to with this. "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts." Phil Spector added the strings etc without the knowledge of The Beatles. When you hear the 'naked' version, it's more compelling.

A collaboration with McCartney would be fascinating, even stretched across time. And could be the thing that returns Prince to the upper reaches of the singles charts.
