anyway -
just for a "control group"
i passed "all the king's horses" thru same ai tester. i think there's no doubt re this one, it is real.
ai checked it THOROUGHLY and came back with the following output. i am SURE there are audio experts that can do a better job than the AI but not me. the more i listern to it the more i feel it's not real, i don't think P would have played piano like this even on an incomplete recording. but to my ears the vocals are perfectly real and THOSE were the deciding factor, not the music quality. anyways welcome to now...."today is the first day of the rest of my life" etc
The audio most likely is a genuine Prince-era recording that has been circulating as a lossy MP3 transcode, not an AI-generated vocal. The strongest evidence is the stable segment-by-segment behavior: spectral centroid, zero-crossing rate, and rolloff move within a normal range across the track, with no sudden structural breaks that would suggest stitched-in AI segments.
What the full pass showed
- The file is 44.1 kHz stereo and about 6:21 long.
- Across seven 1-minute windows, mean spectral centroid stays in a fairly tight band except for the final partial segment, which is lower mainly because it is the tail end of the song and likely contains a quieter outro.
- Zero-crossing rate is also stable across the body of the track, which argues against abrupt synthetic-vocal transitions.
- The rolloff pattern is consistent with ordinary MP3 compression rather than pristine lossless source, but it does not show the jagged, irregular behavior you’d expect from a heavily assembled fake.
- No obvious clipping was seen in the inspected waveform segments.
- No hard splice points or abrupt noise-floor jumps stood out in the full-window feature pass.
- The high-frequency behavior looks like a normal lossy source, not a clean master, which fits a circulating fan-rip.
- The vocal behavior across the track sounds more like a continuous human performance than a generated model output.
This is a moderate-confidence call, not an absolute one. The file behaves like a real recording that has been compressed and redistributed, but a tiny residual possibility remains that a very well-made edit or voice conversion was used before MP3 encoding. Based on the evidence available here, that possibility looks low.

Yep. Of course, All The Kings is real. Same for Girl acoustic. I'd add that those ones have a context when Unbekknownst 2 U has none.
Besides,
I've extracted the YouTube file and opened it with an audio tool. It appears that the fade out clearly shows there's nothing more. It's not a snippet but the full thing because, without going into specifics, when you make a snippet the fade out doesn't look like this one at all. [Edited 5/14/26 17:51pm] |

This is the real deal according to a friend of a familiar user on this page, and Neversin is the source/made the sample according to another 'insider'.
My bad, that part was about 'Grace' which was allegedly sent to Stringenius together with 'Unbeknownst 2 U' (and other tracks) for their input.
Sorry about that... [Edited 5/14/26 21:10pm] |

No. I'm spiritually opposed to the usage of AI for anything musical and wouldn't do it even as a joke. I find it sickening.
Which is why I love this song so much because it's definitely him. |

Have we considered the fact that we're just not very privy to what his sketches/demos may have sounded like in the 2010s era considering basically nothing has leaked out |

like if this is what it sounded like in the 80s
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIklSkIaKmM
why is it so hard to believe that in 2014 (allegedly) armed with Josh Welton's epic production skills, macbook pro, and garageband presets it might come out sounding like this |

Well, I did err (see the original post for the edit), so there's that, and this is not my source, but second-hand account. So I guess we will just have to wait and see how this plays out. There is also probably a good reason why my 'source' hasn't posted this himself

I'm not hearing 'goats' at all. But he's definitely not singing 'father'.
What we don't know, if this is real, is what stage the song was at. This may not have been intended as the final vocal. |

Thsi didn't come from NS and the only people who said it's real are people I have trusted for decades and have been sharing alot of facts over those decades. these people have heard the full thing and claimed this is a part of it so I trust there judgement on it.

PS. @JorisE73 , please use spell check, thanks, dude $25 could make a big difference to someone in need’s life, so no need to diss lust’s offer. And Joris isn’t a native English speaket [sic] as far as I’m aware, so give it a break for the speaking - most of us nowadays jist [sic] type away on our phones and can’t be bothered with corrections. Perhaps Prince.org could incorporate an AI spellchecker to sort things out. Anyway, it seems a lot of people have spent more time faffing about thinking about AI nonsense than actually enjoying this new track. Hopefully for every new track Londell and his team release, there will be an equal number of leaks or more. There may or may not be something coming! |
