"Rumor has it that this album includes 12-inch mixes, B-side tracks, and the full live performance from Paris, France."

Spicer apparently replied that it was "inaccurate" (I haven't fact-checked this).

Couldn't the "inaccurate" word simply refer to the fact that the set will include a live performance? Why wouldn't it simply follow the format of the ATWIAD "deluxe" set? Why are people expecting anything more?

If he's calling reports of it being a barebones release like ATWIAD "not true" then I'd say that's a good sign. So I'm at least a little more hopeful than I was. However, I have a feeling that the reason they haven't made any proper announcement about what form it will take is because they don't actually know yet. I'm not convinced that any plans are actually in place and I get the impression that they're probably scrambling behind the scenes to put something out. But like I said, his responses to people online suggest that he's at least aware that people would not be happy with another ATWIAD situation. So maybe we'll get something decent from them. Eventually.

So if they are referring to Sign O the times as an expanded release, might it be that Parade is being viewed by the Estate in the same manner ?

We know there is a wealth of outtakes that could be included.

You raise a good point, which is that these terms ("special," "expanded," "deluxe," "super deluxe") are often arbitrarily used, and don't always have the fixed meaning we assume they have, or want them to have. I've never found them that helpful when it comes to describing these sorts of projects, or predicting what might be on them. I get that "super deluxe" sets up certain expectations, but otherwise it's hard to put much stock in these descriptions. We just have to wait and see the tracklist and included materials.

I don’t think that’s the only reason.

I think that, given the brief, vague announcement, they don’t want to spend money on a proper promotion.

We’ve seen this before. All those little mistakes that (apparently) the fans clearly see and hear time and time again. It seems like they don’t even bother to learn from them or improve.

(I still don’t understand why they don’t capitalize on the fans. This unnecessary secrecy is so outdated and uncommunicative. It creates and fuels all these reactions we’ve all had over the last 5 years.)

Those in charge aren’t (big/huge) fans like us. I suspect they’re working with cheaper teams to keep costs as low as possible.

As Bart already mentioned, using the wrong font... plus, just the album cover image in a generic zoom.

On top of that, some random choice of live music? ...I can’t tell if it’s been cleaned up or not.

Maybe we’ll get a proper promotion later this year?

No podcasts for ATWIAD... so probbly also not this time. (But there was another good alternative here that I liked very much.)

IF they handle this upcomoing release the wrong way, they’re making a huge mistake i believe.

The song “KISS” alone could carry most of the promotion for the wider audience.

And “Sometimes It Snows In April,” a hit without ever being released as a single... you hear this song quite often on European radio stations, for example.

Actually they have serious material to use wisely to reach a larger audience, if they’re willing to put in the effort imho.
