I can't understand why anyone still believes Londell and Charles need "more time" to sort out their business affairs. It only took a few years before the previous team was consistently putting out high quality releases, and they're the ones who had to take over directly after Prince's passing.

Time has nothing to do with it. . It's a business plan and the Vault is simply not part of it. . As for the rest, as I said, it's just a basket of lame excuses and lies.

Sure. But we ALL know that, and the estate knows that too (hopefully). We ALL just want this : studio recordings / live material. ...simple as can be. On a regular basis & with good and acurate information. That's all! Put that in a petition, get to the point, with as less words as possible, and you'll probably get more attention and hopefully more signatures, this in my humble opinion. And obviously with respect for all the work you put into yours, let that be clear. I read half through it, too boring for me. Like I said, i didn't sign. But let's also agree to dissagree. That's why we are also here, right? Look how big a debate we already have here. So you win. Good.

"Prince Celebration 2026 will highlight the depth and evolution of Prince’s artistry through the eras of Parade, Emancipation, Chaos and Disorder, The Rainbow Children, and 3121"
So,
- Parade (40 years) - Emancipation (30 years) - Chaos and Disorder (30 years) - The Rainbow Children (25 years) - 3121 (20 years)
Is that the new approach now? How boring and cheap. While they can fill a whole weekend alone with Parade instead, what went befroe and after for example. The whole Revolution story. Instead we get a mix of most the most uninteresting albums so far.
Next year that will be SOTT and Planet Earth and PR Deluxe alone then? "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts." (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

Out of interest, have you actually attended a Celebration since they have been running them? I have, 2024 and 2025 (plus 2022) and I can assure I don't attend for a Q&A and the one Q&A there's been was no where near the highlight. Were you at last year's Q&A - based on your comments, I seems unlikely... Did it add to the 2025 experience, yes, did they have to do it, no, is it good they heard from attendees directly yes, it is good they are doing it again, yes.

or it could be awesome! None of those LP projects are to be sniffed at IMHO. RE: filling the whole weekend alone with Parade - would be awesome in and of itself, that takes those that were involved to play ball and they might not want to or they might not be able to or they may be being offered not enough money or whatever.

Apart from those who are not paid enough or are unavailable... isn't there enough material in the vault, such as : photos, film, video, paraphernalia, preparations, documents, preliminary recordings, involved crew stories, interesting interviewers, articles, peripheral information, Like, Parade's sudden decision to record the famous four songs in one take recording as the opener? alternative versions, and so much more concerning the making of the film UTCM alone... etc. I think you could fill easily two days with a simple well prepared discussion/story telling panel, a good deep exhibition, with listening sessions, and watching unknown footage alone? Let alone an extra day with multiple screenings of different live shows, recorded rehearsals, etc.? Even the quality of the images does not necessarily have to be excellent. That is precisely the beauty and histoical value of it. It was one of the most exciting periods in Prince's career. Even though the commercial results weren't really great. But in terms of material, you could create a fantastic exhibition with this. Like they know how to build and organise exhibitions in museums in Europe. Not like Elvis estate, or previous exhibited Prince things like shoes or whatever superficial exhibitions. It's absoutely possible to create something that contains much more than just showing clichéd highlights and scored musical facts, supplemented with fairground games in a tent? Come on. - And create a good book about it, available for all. I'm nog even talking about available music or film... Just a good worked out 'complete as possible, deep' document on ONE subject. It's all there! Under theyr noses. [Edited 3/10/26 10:15am] "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts." I agree there is but it still needs someone to tell those tales, and I can't help but think it would be enhanced by those that were there, rather than folks that weren't. Also, the shoe exhibition was actually done very well for what it was IMHO

. Yeah, Prince notoriously never complained. Except when he bitched about other artists in the news section of his website (Wendy & Lisa, Beck,...). Or in interviews. Oh yeah, and then there are the times he sued his fans, which is like turbo-complaining. Or when he told the Org to remove photos of people's tattoos of his symbol.

More "details" have been announced: https://www.instagram.com...IIwc7iaZX/ . . (Click the image for a larger version) .
. Anybody else feel this is a rather random line-up? Seems more of a "who's available" list of people than a Celebration with specific topics. . What do Miguel and Bilal even have to do with Prince? Bilal did a tribute to Prince at the BET Awards ten years ago, and Miguel's voice gets compared to Prince's, but those are flimsy links. . Bootsy Collins was an influence on Prince, but IIRC there have not been collaborations etc. . Chaka Khan as a guest is LOL, since it's been two years or so since they announced they were gonna re-release Come 2 My House and zilch has happened. And remember how Chaka announced an album with new Prince songs a year ago and nothing happened? . According to the StarTrib, there also will be "tributes to the Prince albums “Parade,” “Emancipation,” “The Rainbow Children,” “Chaos and Disorder” and “3121.”" When and how are they gonna do that? Parade deserves an entire day by itself, and now it's going to be squeezed in with four other albums? . Oh, and "Kris Kollins and Rachel Webb, who starred in last year’s “Purple Rain” musical, will reprise their performances." Lame karaoke is back on the menu... . [Edited 4/15/26 9:25am]

. Purpose. Direction. Thinking things through instead of some random jumble. You know, the things I speak about in my comments. Why even attempt to celebrate five albums? When is that gonna happen? Especially when they once again are wasting time on completely stupid things like the gospel brunch and the lake cruise. . Go look at https://www.paisleypark.c...ration2026 and tell me where they're going to squeeze that (celebration of those five albums) in. . LMAO, just seen this new entry on that page: "Prince FAM Forum at Paisley Park". . No wonder they're not streaming these things live to the world.

I’ll continue to refrain from supporting the Prince Estate until we get some more substantial vault releases again. Why throw a couple grand at them when it seems like it goes towards making more cheap merch and bare-minimum reissues? That said, I’m happy to see some band members coming back. It’s too bad not all of The Revolution could make it, considering their role in all things Parade. Also, where is Jerome?? A big Counter-Revolution concert would’ve been great. Playing along to a Parade show, perhaps? The NPG playing along to the Glam Slam show was great. And I have to say The Steele’s first brunch show was really fun as well. Great vocals and song choices. Also, it’s great to see Tevin will be there. He’s still got it, and I’m sure it will be fun to hear him do his classics, as well as his Prince songs. I actually think the guest list is pretty solid this year.

. No, because I don't spend thousands of dollars on these ridiculous things. . These things should be five days all about mostly unreleased Prince audio and video from morning to evening for that price. And not all these amateurish "events". And it should be worldwide, and thus streamed, and not limited to some rich elite who for some absurd reason think it is worth spending $1,000 just to meet up with friends.

not at all, I fully endorse the recent article by Matthew Jeffery
Re: Celebration - I have been in 2022, 2024 and 2025 - each has been good for different reasons. From my limited experience of 3 events, I'd say they continue to evolve, somethings work, other things perhaps less so. It's more that I would personally give The Estate a little more leeway here, rather than carping on about they should do this or that - as they will never please all of us, all the time. Plus, to me, it is better to have Celebrations than not. There will come a time, when the bands are too old and we will be as well, that they probably will not work.
