If they came out and said "look, we released a bare bones remaster this year and finally resolved our issues with Netflix so please look forward to 2026 as we plan to share more details soon regarding future releases of vault material" then I think most fans would probably forgive them for how shit 2025 was. But for them to be patting themselves on the back and congratulating themselves over an overpriced "Celebration" event and a remaster and thinking they actually did a good job is actually embarrassing. And yet, not surprising. | |

They failed to mention the so called Diamonds & Love leak, and also that All the King’s one. Pat themselves on th back for missed opportunities they should. There may or may not be something coming! |

All The King's Horses is so good. I would have paid for that. I would gladly pay for any unreleased stuff, especially if it comes from the 2000s onwards because we have relatively few outtakes from that era. | |

Am I missing something?
1. Shared a low-fi mp3 of an acoustic version of 'Free' to celebrate that they had cancelled their multi million dollar deal with Netflix and the Prince documentary that had been in the works - announcing that Prince's legendary 'Vault' was effectively free now - and haven't released anything from the Vault since 2. The 2025 Celebration - reviews by most accounts were not good compared to previous Celebrations 3. The 'Broadway' show premieres and reviews on the whole were terrible and we haven't heard anything since 4. Release of ATWIAD as a remastered deluxe edition with only already released material 5. Release of ATWIAD singles boxset for Record Store Day - with absolutely no numbers on the boxsets to verify how many were made. 6. Allowed Netflix to use Purple Rain and When Doves Cry on the final episode of Stranger Things. Imho the above is a pretty mixed bag of achievements. Certainly not a year I'd claim to be remarkable!
